[Elysia Cosplay] Love Wish Fairy BilibiliWorld Convention Photos - Image 1

The lighting and atmosphere of the BilibiliWorld venue can indeed significantly enhance the expressiveness of a cosplay set. Receiving the returned images shot by Liangliang, I can very intuitively see how the makeup look of this Love Wish Fairy presents under different light sources. The direct on-site flash fill-light made the overall color tones incredibly saturated.

Let's first talk about the preparation of the costume. The biggest difficulty for this Love Wish Fairy outfit lay in the restoration of the primary color scheme and the reflective performance of the materials. Magenta satin is highly prone to reflective overexposure in multi-source lighting environments like an anime convention, but looking at the convention photos, the physical luster was controlled quite well. The square cross design at the neckline, coupled with the central ruby and pearl pendant, felt just right in terms of weight, and there was no severe sagging when actually wearing it. The design of the gloves is very ingenious—the row of white buttons at the cuff paired with pink ribbons adds detail while keeping the line of the entire arm smooth, ensuring there wasn't too much resistance when waving the magic wand.

Choosing the color for the wig this time was actually a process of trial and error; light pink easily shifts color under yellow or cool white lighting. Fortunately, the overhead lights at the BW venue were cool white, which, combined with some warm-toned fill-lights, actually gave the hair strands a bit of a pearl luster, making the texture and layering quite well-executed. The white flowers and flat feathers on the hat were all fixed by hand. Due to the heavy foot traffic at the convention venue, walking around naturally causes involuntary shaking that could easily shift the hat, but looking at the final photos, the angle was quite appropriate without appearing askew.

In terms of makeup, to closely match the character's temperament, I specifically chose light purple colored contacts, paired with pink-toned eyeshadow and a slightly glossy lip color. This color combination can actually easily make the makeup look gray under indoor stadium lights, so when taking photos on-site, I slightly prioritized and emphasized the outer eyeliner to make the facial features look deeper, preventing the face from looking flat when the flash hit. The prop magic wand underwent lightweight processing in the early stages; the silver coating paired with the red-and-white decoration at the top made it relatively easy to hold. After walking around inside the BW venue for eight hours, the burden on my wrist was still within an acceptable range, and the weight didn't affect my movements.

The on-site environment truly tests control during a shoot. Although it was unavoidable to have passersby in the background and on-site clutter enter the frame, the composition of these convention photos very intuitively captured half-body close-ups. The character was not placed at the edges of the frame, so the overall visual focus was concentrated on the costume details, props, and character demeanor. The charm of this kind of convention photography lies precisely in being able to restore the vitality of a character within genuine offline interactions.

Liangliang's lens captured many continuous action moments, which, paired with the slight lifting motion of the white gloves and the focus in the eyes, provided an abundance of atmosphere. The white gloves and the white hemline of the dress could easily get smudged or dirty in crowded events, but fortunately, they still maintained a clean look in the final photos. Being able to bring this Love Wish Fairy outfit to BilibiliWorld this time and harvest this high-quality set of convention photos from Liangliang is already excellent feedback for the focus dedicated to the early preparation stages.
