The outdoor lighting at Firefly ACG Expo was perfect for shooting this photo set. To match Ade's look from Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, I chose this ensemble featuring a black suit jacket over a patent leather bikini top. The structured texture of the black suit, white dress shirt, and neat black tie brought a calm, disciplined commander-like professional aura, while the oversized glossy black bunny ears, black fishnet stockings, and high heels cleverly blended in the playful and relaxed bunny girl elements. The white gloves and the black-and-orange sniper rifle prop allowed for a wide range of poses—whether sitting on the ground or kneeling on one knee, they kept my balance steady.
To present the best look, I styled my hair into a pale blonde braided hairdo and paired it with green colored contacts, which looked striking under the outdoor expo sunlight. Before shooting, I spent extra time grooming the patent leather bikini top; this highly reflective material easily catches dust outdoors and leaves noticeable blemishes in photos if neglected, requiring careful maintenance to keep its sleek luster. The black lace-trimmed fishnet stockings paired with glossy black heels flattered the silhouette while nicely echoing the tailored suit up top.
For this expo, I brought along a white rolling suitcase covered in cartoon stickers, which unexpectedly served as an excellent prop and seat during the shoot. Whether kneeling, sitting cross-legged, or extending my legs straight out, the suitcase height was just right. Of course, the biggest challenge of an on-location shoot is finding clean backdrops amidst crowded corridors—Firefly ACG Expo has massive foot traffic with tourists and photo enthusiasts passing by constantly. Fortunately, the photographer was very experienced and patiently searched for the right angles to bypass the bustling crowds, resulting in a very high yield of great shots.
Combining sharply contrasting pieces like bunny ears, uniforms, and a fishnet stockings outfit truly captured Ade's unique character charm, and I was very pleased with the final result. Wearing this gear around the expo floor brought lots of warm greetings and photo requests from passersby; this interaction among fellow fans is genuinely the most anticipated part of attending any convention. Beyond having the makeup and hair on point, balancing accent colors is crucial—the white gloves, the gold-trimmed white cuffs, and that large orange-and-black rifle all came together to create visual harmony.
The ground was rough outdoor stone tile. Compared to studio shoots, outdoor natural light made the reflections on the patent leather much more dynamic and natural rather than stiff. Kneeling or sitting on the suitcase, the crisp texture of the black fishnet stockings under the sunlight preserved the solid color blocks of the outfit while keeping it visually engaging. Whenever I cosplay characters with tactical weapons, I anticipate the prop weight and potential costume hiccups in advance. Since on-location shoots bring more unpredictable factors than studio shoots, I'm glad everything went smoothly this time.
Although my Firefly ACG Expo schedule included several different outfits, featuring Ade's tactical bunny girl styling as the highlight felt completely worth it. Whether holding the rifle, sitting statically on the suitcase with the weapon, or just adjusting my gloves while looking into the lens, every capture felt remarkably natural. As an anime fan, I especially love character designs that fuse uniform aesthetics with tactical weaponry because the marriage of seriousness and allure delivers an incredible visual impact. In post-processing, we intentionally preserved the warm, authentic color temperature of the sunlight, giving the photos a lightweight, inviting warmth that conveys the vibrant energy of the shoot. Wrapping up this set of photos made this expo trip a complete success that exceeded expectations.
