[37 Cosplay] Reverse: 1999—A Light Blue Memory at Firefly ACG Expo

This shoot took place live at the Firefly ACG Expo. Although the environment was a bustling indoor exhibition hall, the photographer @洗衣机 was highly skilled at controlling the live lighting and lens depth, cleanly blurring out the background display stands and lighting equipment to let the character subject pop directly.

Regarding the character's styling, this wig genuinely took a massive amount of energy. The wig crafted by my dear @比格撒花 not only features a highly accurate color restoration, but the hair strand texture is also exceptionally smooth. That light blue long wavy hair, combined with the meticulously braided side plaits interwoven with thick white cords and adorned with red, blue, gold, and yellow beads, has details completely maximized. The white cloth woven headband on top also makes the entire head silhouette look highly three-dimensional. Of course, retouching the face truly tests post-processing skills; because the live overhead lights were quite complex, and the loose strands and bangs on both sides of the cheeks could easily obscure the eye contours, it took a lot of effort during facial refinement. However, the final cut results make all the hard work feel completely worth it.

For the costume, I chose a pure white sleeveless one-piece silhouette with a V-neck criss-cross lace-up design, which is highly refreshing and flatters the neck and shoulder lines. The upper body is also embellished with small golden bells and fine metal beads; the tiny pendants occasionally make crisp clinking sounds when walking around the exhibition. The cuffs are those extremely wide, detached bell sleeves that float elegantly during movement and posing, bringing an inherently ethereal aura. To enhance the character's signature traits, I specially drew light yellow and blue-purple body paint on the outer thighs—abstract lines and geometric symbols that, paired with deep blue nail polish, form a beautiful visual contrast with this white veil and blue hair outfit.

During the shoot, I experimented with various angles of sitting postures, including cross-legged stretching, running a single hand through my hair, and glancing back sideways. The focus this time was not only to restore this character's setting but also hoping to express a relaxed yet ethereal and crisp atmosphere. When facing the lens, the photographer guided me excellently, making the entire cosplay photography process highly efficient. Although it was a convention venue with a slightly scratched and reflective concrete floor, the actual final images carry a clean, pure, and high-end texture.

The original design of the character 37 inherently carries an ethereal and mysterious feel, and paired with the rhapsody setting of this new version, I am quite satisfied with this interpretation. Although I didn't intentionally try to recreate highly complex movements, I hope to convey the character's signature temperament through the costume's texture and expressions. I also met many fellow fans across the Firefly ACG Expo site, and everyone was sharing their cosplay insights. Finally, I want to thank @比格撒花 again for the immense support with the wig, and Mr. @洗衣机 for the hard work behind the lens. Recording this fleeting styling through cosplay photography is indeed a highly joyful process.
