I spent a long time preparing for this Alice Cosplay shoot from Zenless Zone Zero, and today I'm finally sharing the fully adjusted official photos. From the moment I received this ensemble, I knew it would be a major challenge, yet the actual styling and fitting process exceeded all expectations. The hairstyle in particular was exceptionally tricky to pull off. With the braided blonde styling topped with fluffy plush animal ears, even a slight deviation in placement or angle made the head look top-heavy or unrefined from the front. Securing the wig and fine-tuning the crown's center of gravity alone took nearly half an hour to achieve a flattering silhouette and lively ear positioning. Paired with red contact lenses, I aimed to faithfully convey the character's sharp, alert combat demeanor.
The layered complexity of the outfit was another key focus for this Anime cosplay. The white dress shirt paired with a black necktie and a red bow created a clean, crisp visual contrast, transitioning smoothly into the gray pleated skirt and Black stockings cosplay lower half. The mechanical techwear belt served as the centerpiece of the look, adorned with yellow and green button-style modules, pale hexagonal badges, and draped white ribbons. These accessories dramatically enhanced the three-dimensional depth of the costume, though they also placed restrictions on posing to avoid crushing the delicate attachments.
The most satisfying element was the greatsword prop. The blue-and-white color-blocked handguard and hilt were remarkably eye-catching, accented with custom lettering and carrying solid heft in hand. To embody the concept of "gorgeous symmetrical swordsmanship," we designed two distinct postures. A dynamic kneeling stance demonstrated explosive combat power and visual tension—holding the sword with both hands in an outward parry while projecting confidence and grit through the gaze, delivering an aggressively poised aesthetic. In contrast, the static standing pose clearly showcased the complete silhouette and tailoring of the costume, where platform techwear boots paired with Black stockings cosplay elongated the leg lines, blending futuristic techwear with feminine elegance.
Scouting the location was equally deliberate. We chose an indoor set steeped in an industrial, abandoned aesthetic. Exposed ceiling pipes and beams overhead, along with expansive polished concrete flooring, cast crystal-clear reflections of the subject, greatly enhancing spatial depth and cyberpunk textures in the standing shot. The illuminated white concentric square installation in the background of Photo 1, paired with the rustic wooden shack structure, injected a subtle touch of fantasy into the rugged industrial space, fitting the sci-fi tone of this shoot.
During the shoot, we attempted several fast-paced combat repositioning movements; with such a long weapon and broad range of motion, there were a few thrilling close calls where the blade nearly grazed the camera lens, but the final frames were immensely gratifying. In post-processing, I avoided flashy visual effects or aggressive warping, focusing instead on preserving the raw textural realism of the set while lightly smoothing out pressure marks from the wig and headpieces. As a Female cosplayer, the greatest joy of cosplay lies in conquering these challenging hurdles—finding the right camera angles and bodily posture before the lens when faced with demanding styling, and genuinely channeling that character's commanding presence. This Alice Cosplay serves as a rewarding milestone in tackling complex techwear aesthetics, where every intricate detail proves to be part of its unique charm.
