[Elysia Cosplay] Herrscher of Human in Honkai Impact 3rd: Sharing Spring Floral Shadows with You

For this project portraying Elysia's Herrscher of Human look from Honkai Impact 3rd, what I most wanted to capture was that light, airy, and gentle feeling.

From initial preparation to the finished photos took about a month. When choosing the wig, I specifically selected long pink hair with a soft texture, paired with purple contact lenses. To align with the Herrscher of Human design, I put significant effort into eye makeup, aiming to make the gaze carry emotional narrative depth.

Costume-wise, the tiered white skirt paired with golden metal armlets creates a wonderful texture, while the semi-sheer purple tulle skirt flows dynamically when walking. The shooting location was set in this building with sculpted white pillars specifically to match that gentle, sacred aura. I discussed lighting with the photographer and deliberately preserved a subtle blown-out highlight bleed across the frame to achieve that Dreamy girly style and hazy softness.

Holding flowers and leaning against railings were the main poses, deliberately avoiding rigid standing postures. The latter half of the shoot was actually quite exhausting because the headwear was heavier than expected and required constant facial expression control, though the resulting photos largely met my expectations.

Regarding character interpretation—as mentioned in the post description about saving the world—this character possesses immense tolerance and love in her heart, wishing for all things in the world to be filled with beauty. During the shoot, I worked hard to keep my gaze soft yet resolute, striving to convey that warmth.

Every time I prepare a new cosplay, the pre-production phase is always the most tedious. To present a flawless state before the lens, my stylist and I spent a long time fine-tuning. The long pink curly hair needed careful sectioning to create layers, and positioning the pair of white wing-shaped hair ornaments had to be pinpoint accurate. For the golden vambraces on the shoulders and arms, materials with metallic textures were chosen to catch the light and enhance the feel. The soft purple and white skirt, accented with blue-purple blossoms, offered distinct layers that look breathtaking when light shines through.

On the day of the shoot, we woke up very early. Combining outdoor lighting with indoor props was quite a test of stamina. Posture, gaze, and hand gestures all had to harmonize with the character's elegant, lively, and profoundly tender grace. On set, I even joked with the photographer that the skirt hem looked just like flying blossoms. Although the look is ethereal, standing for a long time made my legs truly ache—yet as a passionate fan, that is where the fun lies.

I personally lean toward the composition in photo 2, leaning against a pillar with a slight head tilt, which feels elegant with a quiet sense of strength. Photo 3, closing my eyes among the flowers, is also a favorite—a relatively serene moment that, paired with foreground bokeh, beautifully expresses her absorption in lovely things. Selecting prop flowers was also crucial; alternating pink and purple tones echoed the pink hair and purple eyes.

For this set, I deliberately avoided making my body look overly slender in editing, choosing instead to recreate the character's soft and delicate fullness. Many people ask why I love portraying this character; beyond the gorgeous costume design, I am deeply moved by her persona full of love and hope. During the portrayal, I asked myself that question, and the answer was a resounding yes. This is likely the true charm of Cosplay photography—allowing me to experience someone else's life in reality, even if just for a fleeting day. I will continue refining my next project in the days ahead.
