Pre-production for this Mid-Autumn cosplay theme took about two weeks. To faithfully capture the character's sweet and playful nature, I made numerous fine adjustments to the hair and makeup. For eye makeup, I set aside earthy neutrals in favor of blended pink and purple eyeshadows, paired with violet contacts to lend a dreamy, ethereal gaze. The wig was a custom-styled pink short hair piece; the two prominent loops atop the crown along with the side pom-poms and gold ornaments were firmly anchored with hairspray and bobby pins to keep them from shifting during dynamic posing. The costume is an interplay of white, pink, and gold crafted from satin and chiffon fabrics. The heart-shaped motif and plush pom-poms at the chest serve as the visual centerpiece, accented with golden armlets and anklets to evoke a festive texture perfectly suited to the opulent yet heartwarming aura of the Mid-Autumn season.

The studio set was designed around wooden traditional architecture and cherry blossom trees, with tatami mats and a raised wooden platform offering ideal structural support for seated postures. For lighting, we utilized a key light fitted with a warm color gel to emulate the soft, ambient glow of moon-viewing at dusk. In the first sequence of shots, I held a traditional wooden tiered food box filled with four-colored pastries—a prop that not only grounded my hands naturally, but also echoed the traditional custom of enjoying mooncakes during the harvest festival. Lifting the box required conscious wrist control while keeping the shoulders relaxed to avoid looking stiff on camera. For the second set of frames, I switched to a white round silk fan, sitting on the wooden platform with one knee bent. This pose heavily tested back and core strength, requiring lightly pointed toes to elongate the leg lines, while faux moss and stone lanterns on the floor served as foreground elements to add visual depth and spatial layering.

Throughout the session, I continuously adjusted my posture and facial expressions, striving to convey a relaxed, joyful ambiance centered on the spirit of Mid-Autumn reunion. Whether making a finger-heart gesture or resting the fan gently against my shoulder, every movement aimed for unforced, organic elegance. When encountering uneven lighting, we adjusted reflector boards to soften facial shadow roll-offs while illuminating the hair's perimeter to accentuate the vibrant sheen of the pink locks. Wearing golden rings and bangles, I paid special attention to hand positioning while handling the round fan and food box, curving my fingers gently for graceful arcs. Midway through, we also captured prop-free gestures, such as framing a heart with both hands below the face—a seemingly simple pose that required careful spacing to avoid obscuring the intricate neckline embroidery. The gilded foil stamping on the garments was prone to glare, so shooting angles were adjusted to bypass harsh specular reflections that might blow out highlights. Although a studio shoot lacks the real moon, the synergy of scenic design, thoughtful props, and complete costuming created a wonderful festival greeting across dimensions. Wherever you may be, I hope these photos bring you the ease and happiness of the holiday.
