[Amiya cosplay] Arknights Heart of Surging Flame Beach Holiday Shoot Log

For this shoot, I headed to the coast wearing Amiya's summer look from the Heart of Surging Flame event. Before committing to this outdoor location, I spent substantial time analyzing the nuances of the outfit and props. The moment I saw the official art, this off-the-shoulder striped-plaid top paired with a straw hat felt extraordinarily refreshing—flawlessly suited for a summer beach environment. To faithfully recreate that sense of a Rhodes Island seaside vacation, I made thorough preparations from selecting the wig to styling the accessories.

For the wig, I selected long straight brown hair trimmed with blunt bangs and set with light styling products. The animal beast ears are the heart and soul of this look; to ensure they wouldn't deform in the gusty ocean breeze, I reinforced them with an internal support structure and anchored them securely to the base wig using sturdy hairpins. As for makeup, accounting for the intense outdoor sunlight, I opted for a lightweight, translucent base, wearing bright blue contact lenses and choosing light, earthy warm eyeshadow tones so the look appeared natural and vibrant in the sun without looking cakey or heavy under harsh light.

The weather on shoot day was wonderful: clear blue skies, puffy white clouds, and ocean breezes served as the ultimate natural backdrop. Still, a Seaside cosplay shoot has its hurdles. Intense UV rays made it difficult to keep my eyes wide open, and the sea wind constantly tousled my hair and the straw hat's ribbon. The photographer and I continually adjusted our positioning across the beach, favoring front-lit or side-backlit angles to sculpt dimensional facial contours while making the teal bag and folding fan pop with vibrant color. The fan emblazoned with 'RHODES ISLAND' was not only great for blocking the sun, but also gave my hands a natural anchor, adding organic interaction to the frames.

The fine beach sand was very soft; walking across it in platform sandals demanded caution and balance to pull off light, buoyant strides. To evoke an authentic holiday ease, I immersed myself in Amiya's mindset of strolling along the shore and savoring her vacation, setting aside the rigid posing typical of anime conventions for gazing into the distance, looking down with a soft smile, or walking casually. The oversized plush doll cradled in my arms was a true highlight—dressed in a matching outfit and tiny straw hat, it brought a delightful contrast of cuteness while offering a comfortable resting point between posture changes.

From a technical perspective, outdoor cosplay photography tests your command of natural light and on-the-spot adaptability above all. This Heart of Surging Flame attire is visually rich in color, with the pink-and-blue plaid creating a striking warm-cool contrast against the ocean water. The denim cutoffs and blue leg ring added dimensional layering to the silhouette. For anyone planning a beachside outdoor shoot, I recommend packing extra sunscreen spray and doing frequent touch-ups, as sweat and sea spray quickly wear down makeup. Bag selection is equally crucial; this structured square cooler bag was not only faithful to the design, but also spacious enough to hold touch-up supplies and drinking water—immensely practical on set.

All in all, this Seaside cosplay shoot was an absolute joy, fitting right into the Arknights Creator Support Program spirit. Bringing a 2D character into a living natural landscape requires more than accurate costuming; it's about harmonizing with the shifting light, wind, and sand. I hope these photos convey this summer freshness and the character's buoyant energy.
