[Gracebearer cosplay] Arknights serenity and mystery in red and black Gothic style

Today I am sharing with you the Gracebearer cosplay work from Arknights. The conception of this photo set has actually been swirling in my mind for a long time, and the overall color tone is set between red, black, and dark shades. To match the character's temperament, I deliberately chose a large area of dark background to set off the eye-catching red hair and white accessories, creating a strong visual contrast. In terms of hairstyle, the wig styling has undergone many adjustments, especially the braids on the sides. To make them present a natural and three-dimensional hair texture, I repeatedly groomed them with hair wax and styling spray. The black winged hair accessory on top of the head is the soul of this styling; I made some modifications to the material so that it can emit a subtle refractive luster under cold light. Polishing the details took a lot of time, but the final texture makes me feel it was totally worth it.
In the clothing part, the lantern sleeves of the white shirt are the focus of this outfit, which well neutralizes the tough feeling brought by the black leather vest. To highlight the intertwined atmosphere of combat and mystery, accessories with metal chains and cross elements were matched. The skirt hem of this long dress is relatively wide, so when shooting standing poses, I deliberately wore black platform shoes inside to support the whole skirt, which can visually elongate the proportions and make it look taller and straighter. The heavy black book held in the first picture, as well as the white lilies in subsequent photos, are important props for increasing the sense of story in the frame, making the character's image richer.
The shooting process was unforgettable, and special thanks go to the photographer Lipu for precise control. On-site, we set up white Roman columns, angel sculptures, and huge crosses. In terms of light and shadow, we completely relied on cool-toned side-backlighting and top lighting to pierce through the hair strands and the outline of the costume. This low-key treatment gives the overall atmosphere a solemn feeling, as if being in some ancient ritual site. For the half-body close-up in Figure 1, I used a book to block part of the light source, leaving a great shadow around the eyes; that gaze penetrating from the dark is an expression I am very satisfied with. Figure 3 is a completely opposite attempt, switching to soft light and a pink-purple gradient background, wanting to present a more dreamy feeling closer to the soft side of the character's heart. For these two sets of lighting effects with a relatively large contrast, we continuously adjusted the position of the reflector and the angle of the lamps in the venue, trying for a long time before finding the most perfect light source entry point.
In fact, this photo set is relatively niche and might not easily gain high popularity like popular characters, but because I really love this styling and setting, I still wanted to completely share the heart and soul of this creation. From the clothing matching to the scene construction, every detail has been infused with effort, and I hope everyone can feel this love for the character and fan creation.
