From makeup testing to final delivery, this Zenless Zone Zero Remielle Angel look took about half a month overall. Most of the effort was focused on faithfully recreating the garment details and preparing the props. The primary color scheme of this outfit is pure white, accented with purple ribbons and pink bows. To capture that weightless, airy feel, I chose fabrics that were structured yet moderately weighted, ensuring they wouldn't cling limply to the body during posing. The silver metal buckles at the chest and waist are key visual focal points; during the shoot, I paid special attention to using reflectors for highlights to make the metallic texture pop.
The wig was one of the biggest challenges this time: the short pink hair needed textured layers, and the curvature of the bangs had to contour cleanly to my face. To ensure the overall look aligned closely with the character design, I also specially selected purple colored contacts and elf ear props. Applying the elf ears required special effects adhesive, and if the angle shifted during the shoot, it needed frequent re-gluing—truly a bittersweet process. The pink hair and white outfit formed a striking contrast against the solid blue background; to ensure the colors didn't turn dull or greyish, the camera's white balance was specifically calibrated.
The legwear and footwear styling was also prepared strictly according to the design. The silver mirrored high heels feature very slender, substantially tall heels; wearing them naturally shifts your center of gravity forward, presenting quite a test for core strength during posing. Inside, they were paired with pure white tights. White stockings tend to absorb light and wash out during photography, so I adjusted the lighting angles, utilizing side lighting to trace the contours of the legs and avoid blown-out exposure across the frame. The strap structures on the thighs feature leaf-shaped ornaments that echo the white feather props on the back. The feather prop needed careful combing prior to shooting to prevent frizz, and during the shoot we had to ensure the feathers didn't obscure the face or disrupt the outfit's silhouette, requiring continuous assistance from an assistant. The shoes have a mirrored finish that picks up fingerprints very easily, so wearing cotton gloves whenever slipping them on or off was a crucial little detail.
In terms of posing, to highlight the elongation of the legs and an overall languid aura, I tried a side-lying posture with legs lifted. This pose demands substantial core strength, particularly keeping the legs suspended in the air with toes pointed straight so the curve of the high heels looks graceful. Meanwhile, the upper body needs to remain relaxed, resting hands naturally near the face or chest without appearing overly stiff. The garment's cut easily wrinkles when lying on the side, requiring frequent smoothing of the skirt fabric to keep the wardrobe looking pristine in the frame. For facial expressions, I strove for that ethereal, unworldly demeanor—soft yet focused in the eyes.
For the location, we chose a solid blue backdrop, matching our pre-production vision of a clean, airy visual aesthetic. Maintaining the prone and leg-lifting postures was genuinely tough because it required pointing the toes to showcase the lines of the high heels while sustaining lower-back tension to keep the silhouette fluid. Facial expression control was equally essential: physical strain couldn't be allowed to show as fatigue, maintaining a calm, subtly languid state to fit the Angel's cool, effortless vibe. Photography is not only physical exertion but an expression of character interpretation; before shooting, I repeatedly reviewed the character setting sheets, visualizing movements and nuances in my mind.
Every time I tackle such a complex look, the journey from dressing up to shooting is elaborate, but seeing the costume details and textures of light and shadow perfectly captured in the final shots makes all the prep feel worthwhile. The color coordination and physical expression in this set basically achieved what I envisioned.
