The main tone of this classic Kizuna AI outfit was clearly defined during the makeup and styling test: the combination of white, pink, and black is one of Kizuna AI's most recognizable visual symbols. As soon as I received the clothes, I tried them on immediately. To ensure that the tailoring of the upper body could be displayed smoothly during the shoot, I specially made minor adjustments to the patchwork at the abdomen. The fabric of the clothes was chosen from a composite knit fabric with a certain drape, so it won't feel bloated when worn, and combined with the independent design of the detached sleeves, it visually elongates the arm lines.

Instead of choosing a complex outdoor scene, this shoot utilized the existing white sheer curtains and long-pile carpet in the home environment for lighting setup. A continuous light with a softbox on the left side was just enough to illuminate the contour of my side profile, while also showing the material details of the white shorts and pink striped over-the-knee socks. This kind of home environment actually heavily tests the control of aperture and focus points. I deliberately lowered the phone's perspective a bit and looked for the right angle through mirror reflections, so that I could balance the midriff-baring design of the upper body and the display of the stockings on the lower body without needing a third person.

For the poses during the shoot, I picked three different dynamics. The kneeling one presents the leg lines rather softly; when half-kneeling, the triangular cut of the shorts just covers the root of the thighs, and the ratio of absolute territory between the shorts and the sock openings is just right. I am also quite satisfied with the standing one; the movement of lifting one leg gives a sense of fluidity to the pink-and-white patchwork edges of the entire outfit, and paired with the large bow on the hair accessory, the center of gravity of the overall styling is well-maintained. The sitting one was mainly to capture a first-person perspective via mirror reflection, where the hand movements and the extension of the toes reflect a casual sense of interaction.

As a virtual streamer, Kizuna AI not only carries the anime memories of a generation of audiences but has also experienced many growths and turning points over the past decade. This shoot also happened to coincide with Kizuna AI's 10th anniversary and the "Apology to Everything" milestone. As an ACG Cosplayer who has liked this VTuber, wearing this iconic outfit to record this moment is also a way to express my thoughts. On the basis of restoring the character's costume itself, I also added some personal aesthetic understandings, such as adjusting the shade of the hair color to make the hair look more layered in a front-lit environment, and giving the outfit a slight waist-cinching treatment to make the visual contrast of the waist and abdomen more pronounced.

Going through the entire process, including makeup testing, lighting, pose adjustment, shooting, and post-production color unification, took about three hours in total. Compared to a pure flat display, I hope to make this classic VTuber outfit closer to the casual cosplay life feeling in daily life through this relaxing home atmosphere, rather than overdoing rigid posing. The combination of pink and white striped stockings and a white midriff-baring short top indeed has a strong sense of girlishness, but if you emphasize cuteness too deliberately during the shoot, it's easy to lose the self-confidence radiated by the character itself.

In post-processing, I didn't overlay too many filters; I mainly restored the skin tone and lighting shadows under the on-site white balance. The original black waist border and the rolled-up cuff design were preserved. These small details serve as color anchors in the final photos, effectively neutralizing the floaty feeling that white and pink might bring. The shorts also feature small slits on both sides, which makes it easy to handle movements with a large range of motion without worrying about crotch discomfort or restricted movement.

For this VTuber outfit, I feel that besides the classic color scheme, the open and lively attributes it represents are also very important. Taking a Red and white color scheme selfie in front of the mirror in such a highly recognizable outfit is not just about restoring the appearance of a virtual image, but also about reproducing that unique anime atmosphere. As one of the pioneers of virtual streamers, Kizuna AI's ability to cross the 10th anniversary milestone and continue to accompany everyone in various forms is well worth commemorating. I didn't deliberately recreate actions from any specific video, but chose several poses that felt comfortable to me and could showcase the elements of the costume.

During the shooting process, I actually encountered some difficulties when focusing on the hand movements on the mirror surface because the reflection of the phone case and the mirror surface produced a slight stray light. After adjusting the light source angle, the visual effects of both hands and ankles could be presented more clearly. While retaining shadows, the overall lighting scheme minimized the problem of overexposing white clothing. When organizing the photos after the shoot, seeing the color-unified white and pink combination and the clear face-blocking composition, it basically achieved the expected results.
