[Yae Miko cosplay] Convention Photos of the Fox Envoy Lady at Firefly ACG Expo

The Cosplay photo sharing set from Firefly ACG Expo is finally sorted out! To capture this Yae Miko cosplay set well, a lot of effort went into everything from ironing out the costume details to hunting for ideal lighting spots on location.

Let's first talk about the gear used: the Sony Alpha 7C II paired with the FE 85mm f/1.8 lens. This focal length is immensely practical in crowded, cluttered anime convention settings; the f/1.8 wide aperture combined with full-frame bokeh effectively softens the messy high venue ceilings and distant crowds, concentrating visual focus entirely on the character. The ambient lighting at the venue was actually darker than expected, with primary light coming from neatly arranged circular lights on the hall ceiling. To make the subject pop, a strong backlight angle was deliberately preserved during fill-lighting, casting a beautiful glowing halo along the edges of the pink wig while delivering a clean, translucent frame with a stage spotlight feel.

As for the styling, the pink wig features strong structural contours; the large hair bundles on both sides are very prominent, with blue gemstone pendants and pink tassels swaying naturally as I walked, adding lively details. The costume features a pink-and-black spliced design; the upper body combines black semi-sheer fabric with irregular black and white paneling, creating a slim visual fit. What required the most effort was actually the oversized detachable sleeves on the arms—not only did they need securing under the armpits, but repeated adjustments were needed so the pink cherry blossom and floral prints on the sleeves draped naturally with flowing elegance. The fine gold chains and leg rings on the thighs did wonders to accentuate leg lines, which, paired with black pointed toe cross-strap high heels against the reflective empty concrete floor, beautifully elongated the silhouette. The black folding fan in hand served as a neat prop, used to extend hand movements and eliminate awkward arm positioning.

Looking at the poses in this set, none were chosen at random. Photo 1's one-legged standing pose was tough on balance, requiring a tight core, but visually it best showcased the Fox Envoy's confidence and agility. Photo 2 features a single-knee kneeling stance; combined with backlighting, this angle perfectly highlights the leg lines and shoe details. Photo 3's seated pose is open and relaxed, primarily intended to display the skirt fabric's drape and flowing nature, along with an elegant extension of the legs. Photo 4 centers on eye contact with the camera, holding the folding fan or resting it on my lap, with a softer facial expression. When shooting seated poses, I was quite worried about flattening or messing up the wig, so I spent a long time adjusting sitting angles to keep the hair and hair ornaments neatly distinct.

Being convention photos from Firefly ACG Expo, background distractions were inevitable, but lowering the camera angle slightly or utilizing a wide aperture easily blurred out the crowds, making the frames look as if shot in a private studio. Overall, the charm of this Genshin Impact character lies in her blend of dignity and playful trickery; as a cosplayer, one must find that subtle balance in gaze and posture. I love the texture of these edited photos—preserving crisp sharpness without crushing shadow details, with light and skin textures rendered clean, faithfully recreating the feeling of Teyvat's Fox Envoy Lady in my heart.
