This time, there is no gorgeous shrine maiden outfit, no iconic fluffy tail, and no Kagura Verity—I simply wanted to present how she might look stripped of her divine priestess aura, living authentically in Inazuma's 2D daily life.

As a cosplayer who frequently portrays Genshin Impact characters, I am particularly fond of projects with this kind of "crossing the dimensional wall into daily life" nature. The outfit was custom-made by a tailor to fit my silhouette: the upper half features a modified sailor-collar white top, where dark paneled trim along the collar gives a crisp visual structure, while black-and-white stripes and metallic chain accents at the cuffs retain that exquisite decorative touch characteristic of character attire. The lower half is paired with a black pleated mini skirt made of nicely draping fabric that keeps the pleats crisp even while seated. The most effort went into hair and makeup styling; to fit the Custom design cosplay concept, I chose low-saturation yellow hair accessories intertwined with strands for a fluffy, natural effect, rather than a stiff, forced style. For makeup, I applied a minimalist subtraction approach, using light blue contact lenses to brighten my gaze paired with soft eyeliner and natural lip color, creating a great texture under afternoon natural light without needing heavy editing.

The scene layout for this shoot was also conceptualized in advance. The blue-and-white checkered sofa, a teddy bear beside it, and a Monstera plant on the left echo each other to build a strong lived-in vibe. The photographer worked with me using an eye-level to slight low-angle shot, maintaining the full silhouette of the character at the center without making the blinds behind feel overbearing. Lighting was the key element; we waited a good while in front of the set just to catch the moment when sunlight filtered through the blinds right onto the sofa and my arm. When those warm tones finally enveloped me, I naturally relaxed into the pose.

Looking back at these photos after wrapping up, my biggest feeling was reflected in the line: "For me, remaining unchanged is also a form of happiness." Being in the cosplay community for a long time often means recreating intense combat moments or managing massive props and elaborate costumes, striving to match every facet of a character. But in this Loungewear cosplay set, I wanted to convey a quiet, self-contained character core. The wooden grain of the blinds, the sofa's texture, even the casual feeling of being barefoot allowed me to forget I was shooting, feeling as though I were truly an Inazuma maiden enjoying a peaceful day.

This "unchanging" vibe is not only a creative reinterpretation of the character's image, but also a reflection of my original passion for cosplay. Bringing a beloved character into everyday life and expressing her other side in the most restrained way is how I find joy. Styling the wig and securing accessories took considerable time, but seeing the natural, neatly fitted final look made it all worthwhile. Details in outfit coordination, including stitches on the collar and skirt, were kept clean before the lens to avoid unnecessary reflections or harsh folds.

Recalling that shoot day, the photographer never rushed me into forced poses; we simply let light spots from the window drift slowly across the floor. This relaxed creative environment often captures the most vibrant moments. Doing a Custom design cosplay doesn't always have to be magnificently extravagant; finding the comfort zone that best fits the character and sharing this rare warmth of home life with everyone is meaningful enough.
