[Keqing Cosplay] Genshin Impact Ganyu & Keqing Duo Outdoor Photoshoot: Tranquil Companionship Beneath Green Canopy

Taking advantage of the fine weekend weather and natural lighting, my partner and I completed this Duo outdoor photoshoot featuring Ganyu Cosplay and Keqing cosplay from Genshin Impact.

The emotion we wanted to convey this time leaned toward tranquil serenity, so we sought out a green-shaded stone staircase surrounded by rich nature outdoors.

Regarding attire, I portrayed Keqing this time with several custom modifications. The blue-and-white skirt hem was tailored with gold foil embroidery and delicate beaded accents that glint subtly under light. To recreate character fidelity, the metal fasteners on the collar and bust were deliberately crafted from aged vintage brass. On my legs, matte black stockings were paired to elongate leg proportions.

For my partner's Ganyu, we carefully refined every detail after repeated adjustments. Long blue hair paired with white lace trimming is a classic combination, particularly the semi-transparent sheer sleeves on her arms, which imparted an airy lightness. To make the headpiece stand out three-dimensionally, we padded the inner layer of the headband with structured mesh netting.

For our setting, we chose dappled light and shadow areas created by sunlight filtering through leaves, capturing scenes with an 85mm portrait lens that rendered gorgeous background bokeh spots. To solve high-contrast outdoor lighting issues, the photographer utilized natural side-backlighting paired with a silver reflector to brighten face skin tones evenly, preventing harsh shadows across facial features in Outdoor photography.

In guiding poses and mood, our closed-eye relaxed expressions and intertwined fingers perfectly embodied the theme of mutual solace. Rather than exaggerated skill stances, this gentle mutual support better conveyed intimate daily presence. We paid special attention to shoulder angles, ensuring both shoulder heights remained aligned for visual balance. Capturing this moment took only half an hour, primarily because we rehearsed our hand-holding gestures four to five times prior to shooting.

During the actual shoot, I added inner safety lining under the skirt hem to prevent accidental exposure while seated. As leg contours were showcased, the hip-lifting and waist-shaping effect of the black stockings was displayed wonderfully in frame; pairing white and blue costume tones with a black base layer provided strong visual contrast, allowing characters to pop dynamically against the lush green background.

Although the final pictures don't showcase expansive landscapes, the tight framing of medium shots and slightly high-angle perspectives naturally direct viewer focus toward facial expressions and delicate hand interactions. Post-production retouches focused mainly on unifying clean skin tones and applying liquefy adjustments to skirt folds for fuller fabric volume.

For any cosplay project, finding the right partner to collaborate with truly makes shooting twice as effective. Though minor hiccups occurred during prep and shooting—such as a few mosquito bites—the quiet sense of companionship and character aura captured in the end made every bit of preparation worthwhile.
