[Remilia cosplay & Flandre Scarlet Cosplay] Touhou Project Wicked Duo Dark Twins

This set of Touhou Project Wicked Duo twin cosplay is finally ready to meet everyone. This time, I tried two different looks: Remilia cosplay and Flandre Scarlet Cosplay. The collision of red-black and black-purple gothic styles, combined with iconic bat wings and cross decorations, brought a very unique experience during the shoot.

For makeup design, I tried to stay close to the characters' dark fairy tale aura; the light blue wig and golden braided hair corresponded to the distinct personalities of the two characters. On the day of the shoot, a lot of time was spent adjusting the petticoat fluffiness; the Lolita-style multi-layered skirt hem paired with outer black spiderweb-pattern lace gave the overall silhouette a substantial presence.

Detail accessories were the highlight of these looks. The large red bow and purplish-red glossy platform shoes of the Remilia look were extremely eye-catching, with metal rings on the shoe uppers catching nice reflections under lights. The Flandre look featured a black leather leg garter paired with a black Fishnet stockings outfit, which beautifully sculpted leg lines and fit the character's mischievous yet dangerous demeanor. Metal bead chains across the chest and metal buttons on the clothing were also vital elements enhancing texture.

The shooting process was completed entirely indoors; the white wall background and dark reflective floor tiles built a great gothic atmosphere through light and shadow refractions. Since I shot this solo, a black tripod was set up to adjust composition. Small green and yellow lights behind served as great ambient light sources in dim conditions, adding a sense of fantasy to the frame. The black lines of the metal tripod unexpectedly gave a supporting feel to the outfit's silhouette within the composition.

Putting on and taking off these clothes took a considerable amount of time; particularly the layered white lace at the neckline and cuff designs restricted movement range slightly, but this constraint actually offered a more immersive feeling when recreating the characters. The skirt hem had rich layering; when turning around, the interlacing effect of inner and outer purplish-red and black fabrics looked stunning. I intentionally adjusted the mesh size of the Fishnet stockings outfit and the garter position to guarantee optimal visual presentation before the camera.

Within otaku culture, the Touhou Project Wicked Duo has always been a classic combination, and this attempt serves as a concrete expression of my character interpretation. Whether handling every piece of lace trim on the outfit or mastering overall outfit proportions, I aimed to accurately restore the gothic European feel of the character settings. Lighting selection during the shoot favored cool, hard side-backlighting, which highlighted surfaces—especially textures and reflections of glossy materials—giving the photos a richer quality.

The original intention of releasing this photo set was simply hoping to bring characters from the 2D world into reality. Every time I wear such complex dresses and stand before the camera, a wonderful feeling of character possession washes over me. Although executing movements required coordinating with petticoats and wide sleeves, keeping an upright posture was a great way to find the character's feel. From wig trimming to platform shoe selection, although the preparation cycle was long, seeing how intricate lace and metal accessories looked in final photos brought immense satisfaction.

Outfit tailoring and accessories were numerous; during shooting, extra care was needed to avoid snagging the Fishnet stockings outfit on back zippers or decorations. In final photos, red-black and gold-black color combinations created a powerful visual impact. This photo set serves both as a tribute to these two classic Touhou Project characters and a showcase of my attempt at Gothic-style dress styling, which I am delighted to share with everyone.
