A lot of dedication went into the costume, makeup, and props for this Touhou Project character styling. To capture the presence of the eternal shrine maiden, the makeup utilized a clean base, with sharpened eye lines to enhance the focused intensity of the gaze. The structured red cotton-linen fabric held the skirt's silhouette well, and together with the white inner collar and the sash bow, it achieved the original design's rich layering. The embroidery on the headpiece was remade to ensure a full, upright structure from both front and side profiles. The shoot took place at an outdoor wooden pavilion, where dappled natural sunlight filtered through the leaves; this light and shadow tested the photographer's metering, yet highlighted the fabric's authentic texture even better. For posing, I kept my demeanor dignified and restrained, drawing on the character's calm and slightly aloof persona. This Red and white shrine maiden outfit absorbed quite a bit of heat, and mosquitoes in the woods were everywhere, but seeing the final photos made it all worthwhile. Wooden pillars were used as foreground framing to deepen visual layers. Post-processing focused on preserving original color tones without heavy filters, retaining the natural grain of wood and fabric. Snapshots of the sleeve ruffles fluttering in the wind turned out beautifully, showcasing the outfit's fluidity. From crafting props and styling the wig to channeling expressions, the entire experience was deeply engaging. The world of Touhou Project is immensely captivating, and the phrase 'restoring the glory of Gensokyo' carries a genuine sense of duty. This shoot also gave me a fresh appreciation for the garment's tailoring, with cleanly connected panel lines front to back. In terms of photography, an optimal aperture for Outdoor portrait shooting was chosen to softly blur the woodland background, making the subject stand out. For fans of the series, fidelity is always paramount. I added delicate touches to the skirt embroidery and ruffled cuffs to give them greater dimension under natural light. We spent a lot of time finding angles and chasing light; the final Touhou cosplay outcome was very satisfying, serving as a sincere tribute to this iconic character.
