A great deal of thought went into the fine details of this Komeiji Koishi ensemble. For the green wig, I chose a mint-green shade, focusing on layered depth and fluffiness during cutting while keeping sufficient volume in the bangs to give the overall silhouette substantial presence. The focal point of the makeup centered around the eyes. Green colored contacts served as the foundation, paired with dropped lower lash line shading and wide, diffused pink blush to faithfully recreate that eerie, unearthly, and subtly yandere ambiance. The rosy glow on the tip of my nose and cheeks was built up in circular buffing motions to ensure it remained soft rather than harsh under bright lighting. The lips were kept a tender pink with blurred edges, focusing the visual center on the eyes and color contrasts.
The costume features an intricate black-and-green palette, where outer black sheer tulle and light-toned ruffled layers beneath form a rich visual hierarchy. Around the neck, light blue satin ribbon and sheer mesh were tied into a bow tie adorned with a cross pendant and gemstone accents. The wide-brimmed hat features a ring of black lace along the edge, while the blue-green tulle on top casts an iridescent sheen under studio lamps. The black sheer sleeves have ruffled wavy hems, which pop with sharp three-dimensional volume whenever my arms lift or cradle props.
The heart-shaped prop in my hands was crafted from blue twigs and coiled floral wire, decorated with faux purple blossoms and a green gemstone pendant suspended right in the center. Another prop was a blue floral plate with cascading layers of blooms, whose centered pearls and crushed rhinestones gave off delicate sparkles under the light. During the shoot, angling the heart prop created a semi-enclosing frame within the composition. To keep the props and garments distinctly separated in the frame, I intentionally enhanced the lighting setup: the overall illumination leaned soft, with a frontal softbox bringing out the facial blush and green hair while maintaining a clean white background to cleanly carve out the edges of the black garments. The blues and purples of the props served as lovely highlights amidst the primary black, white, and green tones, while the framing of the heart-shaped prop added visual complexity.
The emotional delivery during the shoot leaned toward the ethereal and detached. The gaze didn't need to lock firmly onto the lens; letting it drift into a soft blank stare paired with delicate hand gestures cultivated an aura existing entirely outside reality. Faithfully bringing an intricate costume to life is not just about visual proximity—it's about channeling the character's essence through gaze and posture. From makeup testing to prop positioning, every step aimed for precision. I am thoroughly satisfied with the textural depth and vibrant color collisions achieved, and I hope future projects continue to deliver fresh, diverse visual experiences.
