[Cheshire Cosplay] The wedding can't start without you: Azur Lane Bride Series

"The wedding can't start without you." This line is captured forever in this set of Azur Lane Cheshire bride-themed photos, and it was also the line I kept repeating in my head on the day of the shoot. Having finally compiled the fruits of this shoot, I felt truly happy the moment I saw the finished photos. A lot of effort went into this work from planning to execution, aiming to deliver a romantic, dreamy atmosphere with a touch of classic vintage texture.

First, let's talk about the makeup, styling, and wig. To fit the character's signature traits, I chose a short, straight silver-grey wig with bright cyan highlights specifically added on both sides. Paired with blue contact lenses, it looked exceptionally translucent under soft lighting. The most eye-catching part of this look is undoubtedly that gorgeous, massive bride hat. It was entirely handmade, composed of layers upon layers of white lace, translucent tulle, light blue silk flowers, and dangling pearl strands, with golden bells accenting the side. The long ribbons on the hat created a wonderfully flowy dynamic effect in the breeze and while moving, which was one of the key focus areas captured during the shoot.

On the day of the shoot, the photographers Mada and Senxue coordinated with incredible tacit understanding. They not only delivered many pleasant surprises in terms of composition and lighting, but also guided my expressions and emotions with great patience. The setting was an indoor studio photoshoot decorated with a vintage European background—featuring teal-blue walls, classic oil paintings, a dark red European velvet sofa, complemented by a Christmas tree and delicate candleholders, giving the entire environment a Victorian-style romantic charm. For props, we prepared a vintage rotary phone, a gold-framed round mirror, delicate cake plates, and flower bouquets, all of which enriched the storytelling feel of the entire set.

The bride gown for this shoot fitted the theme perfectly—a pure white off-the-shoulder design adorned with layered ruffles and a fluffy white tulle skirt, with large clusters of blue hydrangea decorations trimming the hemline. Paired with over-the-elbow white satin gloves, an exquisite lace choker, and multi-layered pearl necklaces, the visual layering was exceptionally rich. While posing, I had to stay conscious of my posture at all times. For example, in the shot where I sat on the dark red sofa holding a slice of cake, I had to keep my back straight and my elbow at a flattering angle while simultaneously conveying an enjoyable, playful, and relaxed expression, which was actually quite a test of core strength.

The shot I was most satisfied with from this shoot was the composition featuring a mirror reflection. Using the perspective of the gold round mirror, it presented a blend of reality and reflection that elevated the dreamy bridal vibe to the absolute max. The photographer's control over diffuse soft lighting was remarkably steady, ensuring that the white outfit didn't turn chalky or overexposed. Whether it was the sheen on the satin gloves or the intricate lace border details, everything was preserved perfectly.

The character Cheshire herself possesses a unique aura—elegant, gentle, yet with a hint of elusive mystery and playfulness. When expressing these traits, I tried to keep my gaze as clear and focused as possible, attempting to convey an atmosphere through the lens that felt both gorgeous and approachable. The final results of this photo set exceeded my expectations. I absolutely love the texture under soft, tender lighting, and it stands as one of my most satisfying representative works this year, which I will surely treasure.
