[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane summer swimsuit, self-built water studio photography record

This time, I shot a set of Azur Lane Cheshire swimsuit photoset at Xingman Movie Studio. The entire scene was self-built, wanting to restore that refreshing feeling of summer underwater. The water temperature in the studio was actually quite cool, and I needed to adapt a bit when first getting into the water. However, seeing the light and shadow effects reflected from the water surface made everything feel worth it. This kind of underwater photography is actually a huge test for physical strength and expression management, because staying in the pool all the time and maintaining postures does feel a bit cold after a long time, but for the transparency of the frame, the whole team kept persisting.
In terms of clothing, I self-matched a purple bikini, draped with a semi-transparent white cover-up on the outside, featuring rows of buttons on the cuffs and several dangling purple straps, adding a bit of dynamic agility. The headpiece consists of white horns paired with purple flowers and bows; to match the summer theme, a pair of black sunglasses was propped on the forehead. The lower body features nude-colored base layers and purple ruffled short shorts, with purple lace leg rings tied around the thighs, and thin purple strings tied around the ankles. Since both barefoot and slipper-wearing shots were required, the foot details were also handled. To match this swimsuit, I also added a purple bow choker around the neck, keeping the overall color scheme unified between purple and white, making it visually quite refreshing. Because the swimsuit fabric is relatively special, it easily clings to the body after entering the water, so when adjusting poses, I needed to pull the hem and shoulder straps from time to time to maintain the shape.
During the shoot, teacher Kirishima's control over light was extremely precise. The reflected light of the ripples hitting the skin gave a sparkling feeling. Because the reflection of the water surface was strong, special attention had to be paid to avoiding unnecessary shadows in the lighting. The blue of the background not only needed to have a gradient, but also needed to blend with the water surface, so we tried several schemes in lighting position adjustments. I tried various poses like sitting on a white circular platform, kneeling in the water making heart shapes, etc. To showcase the swimsuit's lines and leg proportions, I would slightly lift one leg while sitting, trying to make the composition full. The wig chosen was a style with blue highlights, with straight bangs trimming the face shape. The makeup emphasized eyeshadow and lip color; because of going into the water, a lot of setting spray was used to prevent makeup from coming off. During the shoot, I also needed to pay attention to the direction of the gaze, because the water surface reflection was very bright, making it easy for the gaze to look unfocused, so I had to find the exact position of the lens.
From setting up the scenery, clothing, to shooting, every link of this photoset was repeatedly communicated for a long time. The biggest advantage of a self-built scene is being able to adjust the position of props according to the character and one's own ideas, such as the height of the white circular platform and the ripples of the surrounding water surface, which all need constant adjustment to achieve the best reflection effect. Although the process was a bit tiring, the output effect was very satisfying. I hope it can bring everyone a little bit of summer feeling.
