Stepping into Halford's Bunny girl outfit, I started pondering how to capture the character's demeanor the moment I received the costume. The silver-white wig paired with pink contact lenses, crowned by plush black animal ears, instantly brought out a soft and playful charm. The white lace ruffled headpiece and cascading black ribbons were packed with intricate details. To match the character's gentle essence, the entire outfit generously utilized semi-sheer chiffon and light tulle fabrics, featuring exaggerated puffy sleeves that looked dreamily photogenic once the studio lights were dialed in.
During the shoot, our initial thought was to pair the look with a soft pink-toned scene. Interacting with the heart-framed mirror was the core of Photo 2, where touching index fingers created a quiet, conversational intimacy. In Photo 1, lightly touching the lips with curled fingers enhanced the character's mystery and cuteness. For Halford from Azur Lane, I aimed to interpret her through varied expressions. In Photo 3, closing my eyes while hugging the blue plush doll looked effortless and lazy, but was actually a moment of calming my breath—paired with the blush and red lips, relaxing into the pose created that casual, tender softness. The kneeling pose in Photo 4 was my personal favorite: it beautifully showcased the slender lines of the White tights cosplay, while the interplay between the draped sheer sleeves and the plush toy established great visual layering.
While this outfit appears lightweight, managing it during shooting proved quite challenging. If the wide sleeves weren't smoothed out properly, they could easily block the catchlights in my eyes or brush against the makeup. Furthermore, the elaborate headwear tested our studio lighting angles, requiring soft diffused bounce light so the white wig retained a natural luster rather than looking flat and overexposed. Photographer Huaiyi took immense care with light and shadow, experimenting with diverse angles of diffused light to achieve that fluffy, dreamlike texture. The RGB studio gear and pink gaming chair in the background came from shooting in a live-streamer-styled studio space, which added an authentic, everyday touch of realism bridging the 2D and real worlds.
Controlling the tactile texture of this Bunny girl outfit was equally vital. Lightweight fabrics look ethereal on camera, but they demand precise handling during movement. The semi-sheer tulle couldn't be allowed to look messy or obscure the character's facial expressions. Throughout the shoot, I continually adjusted the sleeve drape and repositioned the plush toys so they served as charming accents without stealing focus. Because the set leaned into a pure, cute aesthetic, post-processing was kept minimal, preserving the raw soft-light ambiance to let the character's gaze and genuine skin texture shine through naturally.
This Halford cosplay shoot was a thoroughly delightful Anime cosplay experience. Reconciling lace, ribbons, plush textures, and sheer fabrics into a clean, translucent frame tested our on-set coordination and chemistry with the lens. I hope this portrayal captures her unique aura in Azur Lane, and that everyone can feel the creative thought behind this photo share.
