The finished photos from this Studio shoot are finally here! The Swimsuit cosplay look of Cheshire Cosplay delivered a singularly vibrant and lively grace before the camera. In preparation for this shoot, I spent extensive time communicating with photographer Teacher Wudao regarding lighting and shadow rendering. The water set floor at the Xingman Movie studio offers incredible reflective highlights; the blue backdrop paired with lighting-projected water ripples truly made it feel like being immersed in the refreshing cool of a summer seaside.
Regarding this swimsuit, the overall palette is an eye-catching purple, with fabric that shimmers with a subtle pearlescent luster under the studio lights. I wore a wig with blue and purple highlights, topped with white Animal ears and purple bows. The sunglasses rested on my forehead added a playful touch, while a matching ribbon choker adorned my neck. The transparent sheer tulle draped over the outfit was the crown jewel of this look; its translucent fabric captured an airy, weightless aesthetic in backlight, while purple florals and ruffles around the wrists added further layers of exquisite detail. Even the feet were styled meticulously, featuring purple strappy laces wrapping up to the ankles paired with platform flip-flops to unify the entire silhouette.
When it came to posing, being on a low platform required constant center-of-gravity adjustments to flatter body lines. I experimented with a kneeling pose on both knees, pulling open the sheer tulle with both hands while leaning slightly forward—an angle that allowed the photographer to better capture the textures of the swimsuit and skin. Later, I tried sitting on the platform's edge with legs crossed, using water reflections and transparent balloons as foreground elements to add rich spatial depth. Every posture shift demanded core engagement to keep my body looking graceful and elongated. During the kneeling poses especially, to keep excessive pressure off my knees, the photographer kept reminding me to adjust angles so the sheer tulle draped naturally around me in an enveloping embrace.
For makeup, I deepened the blending on the eyes and paired it with a reddish-brown lipstick, evoking a touch of vintage sweetness. With water reflections bouncing onto the skin, the durability and finish of the base makeup were put to the test. During the shoot, ensuring proper costume fit was critical; since Swimsuit cosplay places high visual demands on silhouette, considerable time was spent putting on safety garments and adjusting shoulder strap placements. To prevent accidental exposure and keep the visuals pristine, I specifically chose flesh-toned safety bottoms during prep, ensuring flawless presentation during high-angle or side-profile shots.
The clear prop balloons were filled with purple sequins that glittered brilliantly under the studio fixtures, perfectly matching the overarching palette. Between takes, I reviewed the camera monitor to fine-tune hand gestures and eye directions based on the visual feedback. For example, making a peace sign seemed simple, but getting the natural curve of the hand required trying multiple angles. As the lighting engineer dialed in the primary light source, I rotated to face the light from various angles so the lines of my collarbone and shoulders could be highlighted crisp and sharp.
The whole experience was immensely enjoyable—the water surface reflections, the cool blue tones, and Cheshire's naturally bubbly personality all harmonized effortlessly with this summer theme in our Azur Lane Swimsuit cosplay.
