[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane New Year Vibe Outfit Share

When shooting this photo set, I tried combining the classic traits of Azur Lane Cheshire with the festive red of the Spring Festival, and the visual effect turned out even better than expected. When planning this special New Year project, the first thought in my mind was using black, red, and gold as the main visual base—balancing her lively, playful nature while highlighting a festive New Year vibe.

For the actual outfit breakdown, the top features a dark satin camisole design with gold trim details; its smooth texture offers beautiful luster under studio lighting. In cosplay photography, dark glossy fitted garments can be tricky to capture properly—they demand precise highlight control from the photographer during lighting setup and post-processing to preserve texture without overexposing. The black plush shawl draped over the shoulders served as a key piece to elevate her aura, adding depth while softening the bare look of the camisole straps. The lower half features a classic glossy black tights outfit with vivid red garter straps; this black-and-red contrast is visually striking, subtly echoing the red background. For accessories, I equipped long black gloves, a black wide-brimmed top hat decorated with white flowers, and a white folding fan as a prop in hand.

For the wig, I selected a short style with ash-brown and light blue-gray highlights, breaking the monotony of the overall black tones and adding a touch of cool, unique recognition. The eye makeup incorporated light blue lenses with a cool undertone to recreate her expression as accurately as possible. The overall makeup was kept clean and translucent; since the outfit already offered plenty of visual focus, the makeup only needed to define facial contours without feeling overly heavy.

The floor utilized a high-reflection surface that clearly mirrored my legs and shoes, extending the frame vertically. As lighting hit the shiny black stockings and heels, the reflective gloss added a refined, high-end texture.

As for posing, I adopted an elegant seated posture on a solid wood red-lacquered chair, legs naturally crossed to elongate lower-body lines while allowing the black heels, tights outfit, and garter straps to present the most character-fitting visual composition. My right hand held the folded white fan in front of my chest, paired with a subtle half-smile while gazing gently at the camera lens. The black plush shawl draped naturally around my arms; combined with the tailored fit, the look felt subtly sexy yet effortlessly elegant. Rather than exaggerated poses, the posture relied on natural body contours and fabric textures to convey atmosphere.

A special detail of this shoot was the color dialogue between outfit and backdrop. Since the background was predominantly red, we incorporated large areas of black to anchor the vibrant red tones without letting the subject get lost, adding gold sequins and textured details to enhance visual layering—resulting in a remarkably clean final image. In post-processing for cosplay photography, I prefer boosting contrast slightly while preserving organic textures to make the red, black, and gold pop, while managing exposure to maintain fair, translucent skin tones. Combining a festive holiday vibe with a beloved character always brings unexpected joy. Beyond pure recreation, it feels like giving the character a special New Year celebration. Every adjustment of props—a top hat, gloves, or fan—and every fold and angle helped freeze a moment rich in storytelling. The red garter straps served as a visual highlight, peeking through crossed legs to build subtle tension alongside glossy black stockings. This styling preserved my understanding of Cheshire from Azur Lane while introducing fresh New Year elements for a truly special endeavor.
