Here is a set of Cheshire Cat cosplay Cosplay event photos from the Firefly ACG Expo. This exaggerated pannier gown look in a white and purple colorway truly drew immense attention on site. Compared to other characters I usually portray, Cheshire Cat's outfit is structurally unique. Starting with the top, the white lace ruffles and corset design, paired with off-the-shoulder straps and a standalone collar choker, flatter the neck and shoulder lines while keeping the overall aesthetic both gorgeous and playful. The most challenging aspect was actually the black caged pannier underneath: while it held up the massive silhouette of the purple tulle skirt, it also restricted a lot of movement. To capture the dynamic single-leg standing pose shown in the photos, lifting the skirt required immense care to balance the pannier and center of gravity to avoid tilting over or stepping on the hem.

For the hairstyle, the crisp silver-gray baseline paired with teal-blue highlights on both sides and beaded accents woven through the hair gave the character rich visual layering. In addition, the blue-purple ribbons cascading from the hat added a cool-toned lively touch to the pure white and purple palette. The ambient lighting at the convention was somewhat complex, but the photographer cleverly utilized the industrial metal trusses and arrays of circular ceiling lights as a backdrop, creating unique spatial depth. The wide-angle, low-perspective shooting style fully unleashed the dramatic tension of the pannier and skirt hem. The White stockings and white platform high heels on the legs stayed harmonious with the white outfit above, though they significantly increased physical fatigue—walking around the convention for half a day left my feet aching, yet for character fidelity, it was completely worthwhile.

Such a massive gown might be a burden in a standard room, but in the spacious halls of the Firefly ACG Expo, it fit right in. Many passing fellow attendees recognized the character and curiously asked about the pannier's structure. These photos were intended to capture her tsundere yet lively essence naturally, avoiding overly forced poses to preserve the buoyant, mysterious charm from her lore. While most recent portrayals of this outfit have been studio shoots, seeing it in an authentic convention setting represents a fresh approach. Although the gray concrete floor was rather plain, pairing it with the overhead architecture and lighting produced a surprisingly clean and sharp look.
