[Amiya cosplay] Arknights Fantasy in the Mirage convention photography record, sharing shooting details and costume insights

This set of convention photography from the IDO comic con was shot by photographer Lanqiao Shendeng using a Sony A7C II paired with a 50mm F1.2 lens. The large aperture lens played a great role in the complex lighting and cluttered background of the convention environment, effectively separating the crowd in the background and focusing the visual attention on the character itself. This shoot features the Fantasy in the Mirage styling of Arknights' Amiya. The costume's green shirt paired with a yellow and white striped scarf presents a nice texture under the large aperture lens. Securing the hat and ears requires consideration of the hairstyle. This time, hair clips and hidden buttons were used, which, combined with the smooth bangs of the long brown hair, made the overall head contour more natural. The blue color contacts and blue choker, along with the rings that match the nail art, make the color details of the photos more unified. Regarding shooting composition, we tried several different perspectives. The half-body close-up focuses on showing the facial condition and eye expressions; the standing full-body shot shows the coordination of overall proportions; while the sitting posture focuses on presenting the leg lines. For the cover of this photo set, we chose one sitting on a white plush carpet. Considering that the carpet material at the convention was relatively hard, after laying down the blanket, I adjusted the angle of my legs, slightly bent my knees, and paired them with white thigh-high socks and mid-calf boots. This angle makes the legs look slender and curvy. Hand movements are also part of the frame's composition; whether resting a single hand on the face or placing it naturally, they were adjusted to adapt to the lens's perspective relationship. The challenge of convention photography lies in finding a relatively clean background. We consciously avoided peak crowd times and used empty spaces in corners or nearby prop vending machines for composition. In terms of costume matching, the details of the sleeves, bags, and boots were carefully considered. Because the lighting in the exhibition hall during the shoot was quite complex, natural diffused light from the venue was used in some photos, resulting in an overall cooler color temperature. However, through slight post-processing adjustments, the skin texture and costume colors were accurately restored. The communication after each on-site shoot also gave me a new understanding of lens expressiveness. This set of photos is considered a recent milestone shooting work. The brim of the hat and the fluff of the ears showed a sense of layering under the light, which is also why that half-body shot is very suitable for an avatar. Full-body shots consider the overall visual balance even more, using the yellow backpack straps and the green skirt to create a warm-cold contrast, preventing the frame from being too monotonous. Combing the wig is a meticulous process, especially the treatment of the front bangs, which need to just cover part of the eyes without obstructing the line of sight. The makeup focuses on the depiction of the eyes, which look very lively when paired with the blue color contacts. To capture a more vivid side during the shoot, the photographer chose continuous shooting to catch moments of natural smiles or action transitions. The eyes in candid shots are often more dynamic than in deliberate poses. Walking around the exhibition hall in this outfit that day indeed attracted the attention of many friends. Some people also came to ask about the details of the costumes and props, and I answered them one by one. In short, from prop preparation and makeup completion to lighting arrangement, every step of this shoot was quite a test of on-site coordination ability. It can be considered a relatively enriching and smooth shooting experience, and a complete record of the Fantasy in the Mirage Amiya styling.
