I spent a long time preparing in advance for this shoot as Nao Tomori. This sailor uniform is practically the soul of the character—a white short-sleeved top with a red collar and matching trim, complemented by an oversized, bright-yellow bow on the chest that is instantly recognizable. To recreate that crisp, neat school aesthetic, I chose a red pleated skirt with sharp, clean white lines running along the hem. For footwear, I went with brown lace-up combat boots paired with black knee-high stockings, bringing the entire coordinate together seamlessly. As for the wig, Nao Tomori's silver-white twin-tails are iconic. I spent quite a while trimming this wig; the straight bangs and side locks had to be carefully measured, and black hair accessories were used to secure the twin-tails at the base so they wouldn't easily get messy while moving around. On the makeup front, to harmonize with the silver hair, I went with a fair, porcelain base and emphasized the eye makeup, wearing blue contact lenses to capture her trademark gaze—seemingly detached on the surface, yet with a spark of playfulness underneath. The weather on shoot day was wonderful, with blue skies and white clouds that felt made for outdoor photography. We picked a location featuring a pedestrian overpass and long covered corridors, where direct sunlight cast crisp, dynamic shadows across the frame. To enrich the composition, I brought along a silver handheld camcorder as a prop; holding it up as if recording fit her character lore naturally. The red Pocky box was another great interactive prop—biting down on a stick or holding the box made every gesture feel far more candid. When shooting under the covered walkway, the latticed ceiling softened the light, so I threw on a black shoulder bag, kept my hands in my pockets or gripped the camcorder, leaning into a slightly cooler demeanor. Sitting on the yellow steps, casually extending my legs helped project a relaxed mood. Finally, we headed down to the lawn; against a backdrop of modern geometric architecture, sitting on the grass snacking on treats shifted the tone right back into a cozy student slice-of-life mode. The entire session went smoothly—the photographer was fantastic at catching candid moments and guiding my poses. To reflect Nao Tomori's personality, I kept my expressions mostly composed while letting subtle quirks—like munching on Pocky or handling the camera—add a touch of lively energy. From wardrobe prep to the final color grading, this set aimed for a clean, vibrant aesthetic, and I hope everyone enjoys how it turned out.
