Today, I'd like to share the shooting process and wearing experience of this anime-style fashion nurse cosplay outfit.
The overall outfit has a white base, complemented by red cross patterns, straps, and lace trim as accents. The upper body features an off-the-shoulder style with a high collar and cutouts, paired with white puff sleeves. The lower body is a fluffy skirt with lace trims, worn with an apron featuring a red-cross pocket on the outside, and paired with white over-the-knee thigh-high stockings on the legs. The overall style leans toward otaku moe and a subculture moe vibe.
In terms of makeup, I wore red contact lenses, and the eye makeup was intentionally blended using red tones. I chose a deeper red for the lipstick to echo the red lines on the outfit, making the overall color tone of the image more unified.
The shooting location was chosen as an underground parking garage. The ambient lighting was relatively dim at the time, but the cool-toned light source hitting the white clothes happened to highlight the texture of the outfit and make the skin tone look more translucent. We prepared a few different poses. When standing, I would raise both hands, or support my hat with one hand while gently touching my lips, trying to present a playful yet slightly mysterious feeling. When crouching down, I would spread out the skirt hem, supporting my chin with one hand or stroking my cheek, which gives the image more dimensional layering.
Regarding the outfit styling, a reminder is that while transparent high-heeled sandals paired with White stockings look visually stunning, the ground in the underground parking garage is relatively rough, so you need to be careful when moving around to avoid snagging the stockings. Additionally, the waist of this costume is quite fitted, so I had to constantly mind my posture during the shoot—slight relaxation would show a small tummy, so I kept my stomach pulled in and chest out almost the entire time. Although the puff sleeves look nice, the material is somewhat stiff, providing a certain restrictive feeling when raising arms.
Regarding the presentation of the style, I wanted to infuse some cool and glamorous elements into the sweetness of the Sugar Angel. By using the dark background of the underground parking garage and red makeup to break the monotony of pure white, the overall styling packs a stronger visual impact. The subculture moe vibe, a state halfway between cute and mature, is also the direction I tried hard to express in this styling.
To match the theme of wanting to become cute, I constantly adjusted my expressions and gaze during the shoot, trying to combine the inherent professional feel of the nurse uniform with the exaggeration of anime. Although the shooting process was exhausting—wearing high heels and holding poses for a long time caused some body soreness—seeing the perfect fusion of the character and the environment in the final photos made me feel all these efforts were worth it. This shoot gave me more insights into anime-style fashion, and I will try more different styles in the future.
