This time, I cosplayed Goldenglow's Coral Coast series summer swimsuit skin from Arknights—the one I've always wanted to shoot: \"Until the Earth Turns into a Lime.\" Since the atmosphere of this outfit carries a strong summer vacation feel, I tried my best to stay close to the design of the original artwork in selecting costume and accessories. The pink wig is super eye-catching, which, paired with white lace sunglasses and a straw hat, maxes out the refreshing visual feel. The white ruffled cardigan with tassel hem, combined with the bikini top featuring black-and-red stripe decorations and denim shorts, faithfully recreates a style that is both casual and filled with sea breeze elements. The lace thigh ring serves as a very neat detail, nicely outlining the overall silhouette.
The shooting location was actually my own room. Because I cared about unedited raw photo quality, I directly used my self-arranged indoor environment to shoot rather than going outdoors. Although the background behind me is relatively domestic, elements like the blue eye-mask cover on the air conditioner, the transparent display case packed with figures and models on the left, and these small collections by the curtain are actually full of personal living atmosphere. They make the photos look less forced and impart a relaxed sense of casual cosplay sharing. Three sets of angles were shot this time: the first standing with a natural arm swing, slightly turning sideways to show the coat's flowy feel; the second sitting on a white chair, leaning back slightly to stabilize my center of gravity, which elongates leg lines while showing upper body outfit details and waistlines (for swimsuit cosplays, sitting poses feel more casual and natural than standing); the third sitting cross-legged directly on the floor, using hand gestures to add interactive charm. For lighting, side fill lights were used to bring out body contours and skin texture, as Goldenglow's fair skin in the original art is a memorable point.
I previously saw many friends having questions or stereotypes about swimsuit cosplay, so I added textual notes in the images, such as wig, adult, normal attire, and so on. For me, Cosplay is fundamentally born from love for a character—an attempt to restore character looks across different states. Whether the outfit leans towards casual, ethereal, or cool, as long as it's paired based on restoring character attire and temperament, it's a form of love for anime characters. Goldenglow's Coral Coast skin artwork itself is super cute and friendly for cosplayers; the fabric is lightweight and not too stuffy, allowing very free movement during shooting.
While preparing this outfit, I realized the straw hat and sunglasses played a great embellishing role. With the hat added, the composition takes on that vacation travel photo flavor without looking flat. The pink wig on top is a fluffy style that avoids hugging the scalp, making the head-to-body ratio look more comfortable. The air conditioner cover on the wall behind actually adds a great touch of everyday life; many people seeing it might think it's just a household decoration, which it indeed is—I bought it and put it there because I always thought it looked like an anime character, acting as a little egg in my room.
The transparent cabinet on the left contains quite a few assembled models and books. Although they weren't fully framed during shooting, as a corner of my daily background, they convey authenticity. Some cosplayers prefer studio shoots, but I feel shooting in a private small room offers more intimacy, allowing me to relax and make various poses naturally. Especially for summer swimsuit themes, a relaxed and comfortable state brings out the best results.
All in all, I shot my favorite Goldenglow Coral Coast skin this time as a record of my casual cosplay log. Looking at this outfit in the mirror, the black-and-red stripes and denim blue create a great color collision, while the white cardigan neutralizes the colors so the overall look doesn't feel cluttered. Cosplay to me is both a passion and a form of expression, and I'm super happy to share this style that belongs to both anime and realistic fashion senses.
