[Chen Qianyu cosplay] High-Quality Outdoor Photography for Arknights: Endfield

The structure of this Chen Qianyu costume is remarkably complex, especially the blue scaled tail worn on the back, which carries significant weight. As for the dragon horns on the head, in order to achieve a seamless molded look while keeping them wearable, a lot of lightweight treatment was done inside. To capture the texture of natural light filtering through, we specially chose an old park featuring lush greenery, streams, and stone carvings. The temperature on the day of the shoot was quite high; while the fabric was fairly breathable, the layered black semi-sheer long sleeves and the zipper details on the skirt took quite a bit of effort to put on and take off.

Because the character's setting has a strong tech aesthetic, the prop—that blue greatsword—was actually held in hand as a physical prop. It felt quite heavy when swinging it, but seeing that reflective effect in the final photos made it all feel completely worth it. The mechanical leg armor design on the lower body posed quite a challenge for standing postures; to ensure smooth leg lines, the photographer had me repeatedly adjust my center of gravity. To recreate that cool, aloof demeanor from the original design, we studied many side-angle lighting setups. For makeup, a translucent foundation was applied, paired with reddish-brown eye highlights, elongated eyeliner, and gradient lips, making her look more dynamic and vivid under natural sunlight.

During post-processing, the key focus was preserving the background blur effect, shifting the overall tone toward blue-green hues, and emphasizing the translucency of the skin and transparent materials. I feel this combination of deep outdoor woods and reflections on clear water matches her temperament perfectly. Capturing this costume's details from multiple angles—such as the off-the-shoulder neckline when resting the chin on a hand, and the lines of the leg armor under the hem of the skirt—truly makes up the highlights of this photo set.
