This custom design cosplay look has actually been in preparation for a long time. From trimming the wig to securing the hair accessories, every step was aimed at giving the frame more of a Magical Girl Style daily atmosphere. Since I didn't want to make an overly grand battle costume, I chose this cream-colored hooded hoodie, pairing it with pearl chains and a white bow, attempting to blend fantasy elements into daily wear. The shoot happened to coincide with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The falling petals under the backlight, combined with the soft natural light, perfectly accentuated the texture of the light green wig and the skin.
To be honest, the hardest part of a custom design is finding the character's temperament—with no original work for reference, it relies entirely on one's own understanding of "cuteness" to construct. Therefore, I deliberately made adjustments to the posing design. For instance, in the second photo, gently holding my hands in front of my chest with my eyes slightly raised was meant to convey a lazy yet dynamic feeling; whereas the posture of gripping the metal pole in the first photo leans more toward being playful and a tiny bit stubborn. The wig strands are very smooth, but they easily get messy when the wind blows, so I kept adjusting the bangs and that ahoge during breaks in the shoot. Fortunately, the final effect looks very natural.
This time, I intentionally avoided complex post-processing and placed more value on the raw photo's colors, light, and shadow. The straight-out-of-camera tones lean warm, which pairs beautifully with the pink and white cherry blossoms. In post, I only micro-adjusted the contrast and preserved the real skin texture to make it feel more grounded in life. Although I don't know how everyone will evaluate this custom design, when I looked back through the photos after the shoot, I was truly struck by that soft, delicate, yet slightly mysterious temperament. I hope this kind of Slice of Life cosplay sharing can give a bit of inspiration to friends who love cute and soft styles. After all, a magical girl doesn't necessarily have to wear a tutu skirt—a hoodie can be very cute too!
