[Hatsune Miku cosplay] Angel Miku, the sacred vibe of white wings and blue ribbons

The core direction for the overall visual setup of this Angel Miku was extreme holiness combined with a touch of coolness. To fit the theme of an angel, the costume utilized a large area of pure white, paired with bright blue accents to break the monotony. The dress features an off-the-shoulder short design with a high mandarin collar, plus a choker with a golden cross and sapphire on the chest. The overall tailoring brings a sense of divinity while maintaining the lightness expected of a 2D character through the short skirt and cut-out details.
Regarding the wig and contact lenses, the teal twin-tails are the iconic feature. The hair texture of this wig looks extremely translucent under the sunlight. To maintain the fluffiness and drape of the twin-tails, a lot of grooming and styling were done before the shoot. In terms of makeup, the focus was on shaping the eye makeup; blue contact lenses enhanced recognition, and the large-area reddish-pink smudging at the outer corners of the eyes was meant to add a hint of complexion to the cool-toned frame, keeping the face three-dimensional even under strong light. The saturation of the red lips is very high, forming a sharp contrast with the overall cool white skin.
The wings and halo were a major challenge for this shoot. The white feather wings on the back are very large. To ensure they didn't look bulky in the frame, we put a lot of thought into the straps and support, allowing the wings to unfold naturally. The thorny halo on top of the head is made of metal, featuring star- and cross-shaped spikes. Attention had to be paid to reflection issues during the shoot, and some of the metallic texture was retained in post-processing. Additionally, the bright blue long ribbons on the skirt are the finishing touch, increasing the vertical extension of the frame when hanging down naturally.
Regarding set design and photography, an all-white indoor sea of flowers was chosen this time. A large number of white roses and lisianthus filled the foreground and background, coupled with white window frames and curtains, making the overall environment very clean. To capture that sacred light sense, natural light filtering through the window was mainly relied upon as the key light source, and the use of backlighting and side-backlighting allowed the edges of the feathers and hair strands to radiate a layer of halo. Falling feather special effects received some depth-of-field blurring in post-processing, increasing the dreamy feel.
Talking about the styling details, the skirt this time is relatively short, so I paired it with white stockings. To better showcase the leg lines in the frame, I tried different sitting postures during the shoot. For example, when sitting on a white high-backed chair, crossed legs can well elongate the visual proportions, while the delicate texture of the white stockings forms a layering with the white sea of flowers in the background. For half-body or full-body compositions, I would use the expansion span of the wings and the staggering of the skirt hem to guide the line of sight, preventing the frame from looking monotonous. The white stockings and smooth leg lines also reflected the overall texture under light and shadow.
During the shooting process, cooperation with the photographer was also crucial. Because of the presence of the wings and halo, the range of motion could not be too large, otherwise it would easily cause wardrobe malfunctions or ruin the hair shape. The freeze-frame of every single photo required softness in body posture and focus in the gaze. From light and shadow to details, I am personally very satisfied with this set of photos, and I also hope to fully present the styling feel of this Angel Miku through these images.
