Today I wrapped up the shoot for Honor of Kings Daji in her Alice in Wonderland skin at the forest park. This styling carries a tremendous visual punch, especially those massive pink-and-white bunny ears. To ensure optimal results on camera, I inserted structural craft wire inside so they remained standing tall through various dynamic motions without sagging under their own weight. The golden short curly wig also required section-by-section styling with hairspray; maintaining the curvature of the bangs was especially crucial for framing my face, and I had to keep a fine-tooth comb handy to groom rogue flyaways between takes.
The costume fabric carries a subtle sheen, and its blue-violet color scheme catches specular glare easily under outdoor natural light. We deliberately timed our shoot for when sunlight filtered through the tree canopy, using this dappled natural light and shadow to illuminate my figure while avoiding harsh direct sunlight that could blow out highlights. The golden trim around the waist and the dangling key prop on the side are delightfully intricate; during posing, I frequently incorporated gestures like resting my hand on the key or playfully fidgeting with it, giving my hands natural placement while enriching the visual storytelling and fine detail in each frame.
To accompany this Alice-themed dress, the blue-and-white over-the-knee Striped stockings were an absolute must. To flatter my leg lines, I experimented with multiple camera angles and stances. For instance, when sitting atop the stone wall with both hands gently hugging my knees and thighs angled slightly toward the lens, this perspective beautifully accentuated the striped texture of the over-the-knee stockings while elongating my leg proportions. Single-leg standing poses demanded even stricter control: engaging my core and leaning slightly backward while opening my arms allowed the skirt to flare out naturally, infusing the composition with dynamic flow and kinetic tension.
For makeup, to complement the blue colored contacts, I accentuated the depth of the eye look, using soft reddish tones at the outer corners to craft an innocent yet alluring bunny-like gaze. Gaze direction during shooting is key—whether looking straight into the lens or glancing coyly to the side, maintaining a curious, playful demeanor is essential. In terms of expression control, a slight hint of wonder or a sweet smile aligns seamlessly with this skin's motif. Paired with the long bunny ears, even simple gestures like tilting my head, cupping my chin, or making finger hearts created engaging interactive warmth. The entire session involved continuous micro-adjustments; balancing on rugged stones in chunky heels tested my core balance, and I constantly had to check the skirt folds and the smoothness of the stockings. Yet seeing the vibrant colors, richly layered background bokeh, and lively character presence in the final photos made all the preparation and fatigue vanish instantly. We selected a park filled with towering trees, where the rugged stone walls formed an intriguing visual dialogue with the city high-rises in the distance. The stone wall provided ideal shooting elevation for exploring varied angles, while fallen leaves on the ground added an organic, rustic touch—the final outcome perfectly matched everything I envisioned for this look.
