This time, I collaborated with @青瓷岁岁安 to do a duo cosplay session featuring Xiao Qiao Cosplay and Daji's Doodle Dog Collaboration series skins from Honor of Kings. The color scheme of the entire photo set is dominated by fresh cyan-blue and bright yellow, with a large area of plush elements making the overall atmosphere incredibly soft and cute. Xiao Qiao's outfit features a white long-sleeved sweatshirt and a yellow shawl, paired with an asymmetrical blue skirt with yellow borders, and white plush leg warmers tied with pink bow ribbons, leaning into a lightweight cute style. Daji wears a classic color-blocked blue and white top paired with a cyan-green apron, with a highly recognizable cartoon camera-shaped small bag hanging from her waist, completed by her iconic large plush tail, giving the visual weight a solid anchor.
On the day of the shoot, we prepared many interesting small props, such as the strawberry cake and cupcakes shown in the pictures. They are actually realistic simulation models made of foam, used for interaction to enhance the storytelling of the frames. To achieve this fluffy texture, the wig was specially customized in a light blue shade, adorned with character-matching animal ear hair accessories, colorful star hairpins, and goggles, pushing the characters' playfulness to the max. Putting on this gear actually took quite some time, especially that massive plush tail; the center of gravity had to be adjusted properly when wearing it to keep the standing posture natural.
The photographer @龙骧nightfall utilized high-key lighting, giving the frames a very high brightness that feels as refreshing as cotton candy. While preserving the three-dimensional facial features, the post-processing unified the overall color tones, making the high-saturation clothing look well-coordinated without being harsh on the eyes. We set up a cabin-style background indoors, using props like lace curtains, teddy bears, and a wooden guitar to enrich the layers. Because the plush props were heavy and the lighting was very bright, we sweated quite a lot during the shoot, relying entirely on the makeup artist's powerful setting makeup to maintain our condition. However, seeing the raw photos made this entire cosplay photoshoot feel completely worth it. The hardest part of a duo shoot is capturing the exact moment when both pairs of eyes look in the same direction. We repeatedly adjusted our poses and positioning to finally freeze these natural and synchronized moments. This was a cosplay experience full of childlike innocence, perfectly fitting for the warm occasion of May 20th (520).
