Today, I've sorted out the solo photos of Koleda from Belobog Heavy Industries. The shooting location this time was chosen as a real construction site; to fit the character's setting, we put a lot of effort into scouting for locations. Koleda's styling is extremely recognizable, and that bright orange-red fluffy twin-tails are truly eye-catching—styling them requires a massive amount of hairspray to support the layered feel. The goggles on top of her head and the yellow lightning eyepatch over her right eye are the soul of the look, and the pattern on the eyepatch was painted on piece by piece by me using pigments. To recreate her industrial yet somewhat wild temperament, I paired it with a black crop top and loose white cargo pants, with a leather tool pouch hanging at the waist. Even though autumn has already arrived, shooting outdoors during the day still makes me break a sweat.
The most energy-consuming part was actually the prop in my hand. It was a block-assembly-style drill engineering vehicle, featuring a huge white spiral drill at the front, a crawler structure at the bottom, and a small gray doll fixed on top. To make the prop look realistic yet lightweight, I tried many different materials. During the shoot, holding this prop with one hand required immense arm strength while also keeping facial expressions relaxed and cool. To highlight Koleda's dominant presence, the photographer @不吃香菜🍥 adopted a low-angle upward shot, which not only elongated the body shape but also gave the entire frame a stronger sense of oppression.
The weather on that day was fantastic, with sunlight shining directly onto the construction site and water droplets and dust flying in the air, glittering under the backlighting. In the background, blue tower cranes, gray concrete frames, and yellow safety guardrails formed a sharp contrast with the colors on the character. The collaboration and tuning with the team went very smoothly throughout the process, and every adjustment of movement was made to better showcase the aura of the Belobog Heavy Industries president. From fixing the props to the strength of the actions, we found the most perfect state through continuous trials. Although walking around the construction site wearing complex equipment was exhausting, seeing the light, shadow, and colors in the final photos made all the fatigue worth it. This solo shoot is also part of the Belobog Heavy Industries group photo series, and I look forward to sharing the group photos with everyone soon.
