This time cosplaying Misaki from Blue Archive actually went through several adjustments from receiving the clothes to the final photo shoot. The pink loose jacket paired with a black pleated skirt, plus the bright yellow bucket hat, this kind of high-saturation color blocking is actually very hard to pull off in reality. To prevent the whole look from seeming like pajamas, I made a lot of reinforcements on the inner wear and collar; the white lapel and crisscross straps had to remain flat and crisp so that the photos would have that sharpness unique to 2D. The orange strap of the cross-body bag is also a finishing touch, breaking the monotony of pink and black.

The grooming of the wig was a major focus this time. The blunt bangs and long sideburns on both sides of the face tested cutting skills greatly. If the bangs were too heavy, it would make the person look lifeless, so I used thinning shears to make the bangs as light as possible while preserving the length of the sideburns to modify the face shape. In terms of makeup, I intentionally intensified the eyeshadow and eyelashes, choosing deep-set contact lenses so that the focus of the gaze could be maintained even facing cold white light. Regarding that iconic halo, since there was no ready-made suitable prop, I tried overlaying it using post-processing hand-drawn lines; although I joked that I tried my best, the moment the lines appeared, that absurd yet reasonable feeling of 2D immediately came out.

In the studio, large softboxes were used for lighting, and a clean solid gray-white background was chosen, the purpose being to make the high-saturation colors of pink and yellow stand out more. The first three half-body close-ups focused on body language. Extending hands forward with fingers spread open—this action superficially looks like asking for an embrace, but in actual composition, I needed to control the force in my shoulders, allowing the cuffs of the pink jacket to present a nice drape without making myself look too tense in the frame. Opening the mouth slightly into a smile, matched with the gaze looking at the lens, can maximize the character's energetic and cute traits. As for the last full-body photo, it was to completely showcase the overall Pink-themed outfit proportions. White mid-calf socks paired with pink flat Mary Jane shoes can well neutralize the oversized feel of the upper body, making the overall styling more visually coordinated.

Actually, every time I do cosplay, I am trying to use a 3D body to restore the spirit of 2D. The character Misaki has a very special temperament; she has both the innocence and cuteness belonging to a young girl and an approachability that makes people want to get closer. To accurately convey this feeling, during shooting breaks, I kept communicating with the photographer about the range of movements, trying to make every posture appear natural rather than deliberately commercial posing. From the flatness of the costume and the layers of the wig to every moment of reaching out for a hug, it was all about breaking the dimensional wall and establishing a real connection with the people seeing this set of photos. This shoot can be considered a deep experience of this character, and I also hope to present the cutest Misaki in my heart to everyone.
