"Become my accomplice." This phrase not only resonates with Remielle's essence, but also perfectly encapsulates the exact atmosphere this photoshoot set out to convey. Portraying a character from Zenless Zone Zero with such an elaborate look was a truly unique experience. Rather than showcasing raw battlefield ferocity, we chose a serene, restrained yet intensely charged expression, weaving all the enigmatic allure of this aloof character into photographic composition and dramatic lighting in this Cosplay photography project.
Let's talk about the costume design concept. The ensemble preserved many iconic elements: signature short pink hair paired with white star and black bow hairpieces, complemented by pointed elf-ear accessories for high fidelity. The outfit's layering was exceptional—the bodice utilized semi-sheer black mesh, accented on the cuffs and arms with black leather straps and silver metallic buckles. Arranged with staggered white star ornaments, the styling avoided looking somber, instead bursting with visual tension. The white ribbon tie and star pendant at the neckline served as the perfect highlight within the dark color scheme.
The skirt featured a high-waisted corset silhouette crafted from high-gloss fabric delivering a patent leather or resin-like sheen. A deep-blue-to-black gradient transition with white star prints added a distinct cyberpunk edge and Gothic style outfit flair. The irregular hemline brought an asymmetrical, fragmented beauty. In practice, the fabric's rigidity and glossiness demanded precise posing, as slight angular shifts refracted entirely different sheen textures, which is why we spent extensive time fine-tuning lighting on set.
To amplify the character's enchanting allure, I paired sheer black stockings with an asymmetrical black leather garter strap across one thigh. On my feet were glossy patent high heels that accentuated sleek leg lines during seated and crouching poses in this Black stockings cosplay. The photographer paid close attention to relaxed limb extension and finger placement—such as resting a hand near the neckline in the first shot or propping hands before the knees—effortlessly capturing that composed yet chilling aura.
The massive black wing-like ornaments behind my back added substantial weight and dramatic flair, elevating volumetric depth on camera whether resting naturally or flared slightly. The photographer's set design complemented the character brilliantly: stacked vintage CRT monitors playing yellow-and-green test patterns, accompanied by oversized yellow horn speakers and warning-striped industrial crates. This retro-industrial underground club aesthetic harmonized seamlessly with Remielle's mysterious, dangerous persona in Zenless Zone Zero.
Warm yellow ambient uplighting and backlighting rimmed the speakers and crates, creating theatrical stage moodiness, while cool white frontal key lights sculpted facial contours and maximized the high-gloss patent fabric and black stockings. This warm-cool cinematic lighting achieved an authentic filmic quality. Collaborating again with @吃冰的冰焰 was a pleasure; the photographer guided me to convey confidence intertwined with allure through subtle gazes. Beyond mere visual replication, the shoot successfully decoded the character's deeper core.
