When shooting this look with black, red, and white as the main color palette, the focus was placed on restoring the overall aura. The purple-pink wig needed to be styled to look both messy and layered, especially at the ends and the bangs. To prevent it from looking heavy, a portion of the hair strands was thinned out manually, and then accented with black geometric hair clips, forming a broken yet exquisite visual balance.
For the eye makeup, a cool-toned red eyeshadow was selected to echo the character's red eyes, making the gaze look sharper by extending the outer corners of the eyes and deepening the contour of the lower eyelids. The red colored contact lenses worn have excellent coverage, subtly revealing a translucent sheen under the lights, which perfectly fits that mysterious and detached temperament. The face base makeup was intentionally made matte, leaving only a subtle shimmer on the lips. Paired with this makeup, even without any expression, it naturally carries a cool and detached aura.
The clothing is richly layered. The innermost layer is a pure white shirt collar, with the necktie tightly fitted, looking clean and sharp. The outer layer is a glossy black leather coat, which reflects distinct highlights under the lighting setup. The red-and-black patchwork area on the chest and the silver metal ornaments are the soul of this outfit. To make the character stand out against the dark background, I put a lot of thought into the contrast of the black, red, and white colors. For gloves, I chose black leather gloves that combine matte and glossy finishes, which not only increases the functional feel of the overall outfit but also perfectly integrates into the light and shadow reflections during the shoot.
In terms of prop selection, the alternating silver and red long-handled prop is highly eye-catching, with its brushed metal texture and red ring-like decorations showing distinct textures under the lights. In addition, the red rose prop is also a visual clue running through this set of images, its passionate red forming a sharp contrast with the character's cool black-and-white color scheme, creating a melancholic yet intense conflict. To complement this dark atmosphere, a Gothic-style metal ironwork structure and red-and-blue toned ambient lighting were intentionally added to the background, letting the visual focus of the frame naturally concentrate on the character.
The three photos each use a different camera language. The first is a medium close-up, with the index finger pressed against the lips, interacting directly with the camera to convey emotions of "silence" and "guarding" through a gaze that breaks the fourth wall. The second zooms out a bit, holding the prop, slightly turning the body, with body language carrying a sense of control, paired with the other hand extending forward, creating full spatial tension. The third adopts a top-down close-up perspective, with large red roses in the foreground blurred out, and the gaze looking slightly downward, creating a close-up sense of tranquility. This angle is actually a great test of facial contours; it demands an extremely high standard for the angle of light during the shoot, requiring the facial features to remain dimensional and deep amidst the heavy dark corners.
Overall, because the character's background setting carries a strong sense of destiny and companionship, I focused more on capturing that light yet firm emotion in the eyes during the shoot, rather than flamboyant physical displays. Combined with this Gothic style cosplay outfit and the red-and-black colored props, I believe these photos can authentically convey my understanding and attempt at this character.
