[Theresa Cosplay] A Lunar Invitation in Honkai Impact 3rd: Freezing this Exquisiteness in Vintage Gothic Style

Changing into this black-and-red-themed Gothic dress and adjusting the ruffles on the collar and cuffs, I instantly entered the mood for this shoot. The most time-consuming part of this look was definitely that fluffy, silver-pink gradient long curly wig; a lot of care went into brushing and securing the hair strands alone. The massive black bow on top of the head served as the visual center, providing the perfect accent. The black-and-gold accessories at the neck and the cascading metal chains added a lot of luxurious texture to the overall look, while the off-the-shoulder design of the outfit combined with the layered skirt hem indeed created a grand sense of volume visually.

The choice of shooting venue harmonized beautifully with the outfit style. Deep red velvet curtains, an intricately carved European vintage sofa, a classical pattern carpet on the floor, and several golden candelabras scattered around together constructed a space filled with a dark night manor aura. The props in the frame each served a purpose: the globe in the corner and the vintage metal birdcage on the floor added to the environment's storytelling, while the golden teacup, red roses, and quill pen in hand became mediums for interaction and emotional transmission.

To better display the full view of the costume, I tried transitioning between sitting and standing postures during the shoot. Especially for the black-and-red patched high-heeled long boots and the black stockings that accentuated the long leg lines, finding the right angle was essential to display their advantages. When passing through the lens, to soften the visual weight brought by the exaggerated hair volume, I intentionally adjusted the extension of my neck and the posture of my shoulders to make the overall look more upright.

The most challenging part during the shoot was how to manage such a heavy skirt hem and long hair without looking bulky. Especially when playing with the teacup, holding the tray, or handling the roses, I had to ensure not only that my finger gestures were elegant and natural, but also that the wig behind me wouldn't shift due to excessive movement, requiring the photographer to coordinate certain snapshot timings. To match the atmosphere, the makeup utilized red colored contacts matching the pupils, paired with a touch of reddish eyeshadow, cooperating with the warm yellow lighting to present a gentle yet slightly mysterious gaze.

This cosplay photoshoot as a whole used relatively warm, low-color-temperature lighting. On one hand, it coordinated with the real-scene light and shadow of the candelabra in the background; on the other hand, it allowed the garments dominated by black, red, and white to present richer color layers. The straps, fine golden chains, and starry decorations on the clothing details all showcased excellent texture under the warm light. When performing, I tried to infuse this static sitting or standing state with a feeling of anticipation and invitation; even if just holding a teacup or handing out a rose, I hoped to convey that interactive sense of "dancing a piece together" described in the text.

Although outdoor or dynamic shoots can offer freer expressions, this type of studio photoshoot in a meticulously decorated indoor scene often allows for a more focused control over every small detail, from the folds of the skirt hem to the reflection of the wig, and to the focal point of the gaze. This set of photos also underwent slight adjustments in atmospheric tones during post-processing to bring the overall image closer to a vintage film feel, retaining some graininess of ambient light. I hope to present a vintage and elegant temperament matching this gorgeous Gothic style cosplay look, while recording this dedicatedly prepared styling and shoot for this vintage manor photoshoot.
