This time, the outdoor photography location was chosen by a highway near the river. The cloudy weather made the natural light very soft, avoiding harsh direct sunlight and instead giving the overall frame a subtle filter-like quality. Although it was quite windy on the day of the shoot and the wig was blown a bit messy, these candid shots with a touch of dynamic motion instead added a sense of authentic vitality.

This time, I prepared that iconic dark sailor uniform. The dark pleated skirt paired with black tights and classic loafers made the overall look crisp and neat, carrying a schoolgirl-like efficiency. The wig is a warm-toned golden yellow, which felt quite smooth to wear, and its color looked very soft under the overcast reflection. The most core prop in the shoot was this wooden sword. The handle is wrapped with white cloth strips, partly to increase grip friction and partly to match the character's setting, allowing for more tense actions and poses. To achieve better results, we tried crouching, standing, and various forms of swinging and holding the sword. When the skirt hem gently lifted with the wind, paired with the wooden sword in hand, the overall visual tension was pushed to the max.

In addition to the classic sailor uniform design, I paired the final look with a white long windbreaker jacket. The addition of the jacket gave the character a touch of casual daily vibe. Against the backdrop of the blue sky, the white jacket formed a visual echo with the golden hair, while providing another display of layering in the outfit. Several scenes chosen during the shoot were also highly narrative, such as the red vending machine by the roadside and the riverside walkway with metal railings, both blending beautifully with the character's sense of daily life.

Photography and post-processing largely determine the upper limit of the final photos, and this time the photographer was exceptionally skilled at utilizing environmental light. For instance, under backlit conditions, although it can easily cause blurred outlines, it beautifully outlines the texture of the hair and the silhouette of the whole body; whereas under frontal light, the character's facial contours and the clarity of the costume were managed perfectly. Although a prop like a wooden sword isn't as threatening as real blades or swords, simply tilting it slightly or slinging it over the shoulder can instantly create a playful yet slightly arrogant aura, which is exactly the unique charm of this Girl with a wooden sword.

As for the behind-the-scenes tidbits during the shoot, they were actually quite fun. Since we were shooting by an outdoor highway, cars passed by occasionally, requiring us to quickly find the right angle and click the shutter in the gaps between traffic. The river breeze was very strong, so we constantly had to stop to adjust the wig and the bowtie that was blown away. But seeing these final photos in the end made me feel all the hard work was completely worth it. This was a very smooth shooting experience; everything from the makeup, hair, and scene compatibility to the final atmosphere achieved my expected results. I hope everyone can feel the unique charm of this character by the river through these photos.
