Doing this Touhou Project Futatsuiwa Mamizou cosplay was a thought I had ever since middle school. Back then, looking at the official art, I found the big tanuki's round glasses and fluffy tail particularly interesting. I didn't expect that after so many years, I would finally fulfill this dream at this age.

The clothing selected this time is a Japanese-style mixed blouse design. To recreate the character's wild spontaneity and lazy mountain-forest temperament, the outer coat was specially selected from fabrics with dark-grained textures. The geometric plaid pattern interwoven with olive green, dark brown, and black looks highly premium and feels substantial when worn. The structure at the neckline underwent quite a few adjustments to allow it to open up naturally. The black tassels on the lower hem, along with the crisp tailoring of the entire garment, made adjustments visually. Paired with a black high-collar inner top, the wooden clogs (geta) were also specially selected as a daily-use style, which not only fits the character setting but also doesn't feel too uncomfortable when walking around.

The makeup mainly focused on highlighting the round-rimmed glasses. Combined with the orange-brown hair and the large green leaf on top of the head, the overall color palette becomes highly coordinated. The material for the animal ears was chosen to be a style that doesn't easily collapse, so the shape can stand upright. The heaviest part was actually that tail; to maintain a fluffy ringed appearance and drape naturally when sitting or lying down, a skeletal frame support was put inside. Although the sense of weight indeed increased significantly after putting it on, the perfect arc presented in front of the lens was still highly necessary for this Animal ears cosplay look.

The entire shooting process benefited from the perfect chemistry with photographer "灬小吃". We chose the dusk period when the light source was soft for the shoot. The pose of sitting on the wooden railing in Figure 1 is a highly satisfying close-up composition. Holding the long pipe prop in hand, the slight turn-back state captures the character's agility beautifully, and the shadow mixed with warm lighting makes the facial condition look exceptionally full.

The subsequent night view grand scenes are a section I personally love very much. The Japanese stone lanterns in the yard are highly authentic, and cooperating with the vintage wooden lattice doors and pillars in the background, the atmosphere instantly rushed up. When shooting the night view, to find a balance between the light pouring from the stone lanterns and the deeper surrounding environment, we repeatedly adjusted the exposure. The final few photos of sitting on the stone steps and the lawn, with that quietness unique to the outdoor night combined with the character's inherent mountain-forest beast setting, give the entire frame a rich narrative feel, as if we weren't conducting a photoshoot but the character itself existed in that space. This is the true charm of Japanese garden photography.

Of course, there were also a few small troubles during the shooting process, such as walking on a pebble-covered ground while wearing wooden clogs, where stabilizing one's center of gravity was not an easy task, let alone maintaining natural body language. However, these small challenges instead added to the fun of the shoot, serving as a way to immersively experience the character's life. As a character that planted a seed in my heart during my beginner days, being able to officially bring it to life this time is a highly precious experience. No excessive, magnificent decorations are needed; the natural feel transmitted by the photos themselves is the exact state I wanted. In short, this Anime cosplay shooting experience was highly relaxing, serving as a complete closure to a past idea of mine, and I'm simply thrilled to participate in it.
