The transition from the housekeeper style to the high school style—this kind of contrast is really interesting. As Ellen Joe, the shark girl in Zenless Zone Zero, I wanted to try and blend these two completely different sides into my work this time. The housekeeper-style costume design is very exquisite, with layered skirts and complex accessories showcasing a dignified yet personable beauty. The high school style is another complete expression: refreshing, sharp, and even a bit detached. To restore Ellen Joe's varied temperament, I put a lot of effort into the makeup and styling for this cosplay. Specifically, to fit the character's gaze and demeanor, the colors of the eyeshadow and blush were finely adjusted. During the shoot, I kept thinking about how to reflect the subtle changes in personality through the switching of costume materials. The housekeeper outfit has a heavier texture, while the high school outfit's tailoring emphasizes the fluidity of lines. This contrast from complex to simple is not just a visual conversion, but a deep excavation of the character's inner world. Every change of costume is actually redefining the character's sense of presence in different scenes. No matter the style, Ellen Joe's unique personality charm can be clearly captured.
