[Jalter Cosplay] Christmas Eve Dinner: Drinking Alone in FGO's Warm Bar Lights

For this shoot, I chose the "Christmas Eve dinner" gown. The warm lighting in the bar truly elevates the texture of the deep purple velvet and satin to the absolute limit.

The design of the gown is highly sophisticated. The black lace trim of the tube top and the dark rhinestone bowknot at the neckline keep the overall silhouette magnificent without looking bulky. The curvature of her headpiece fits my brow bone perfectly, and the silvery-white short hair with the upturned ahoge are the character's signature features. To match the overall color scheme, I deliberately toned down the eye makeup to primarily highlight the diamond-shaped brand on the side of my face and the lip color.

In fact, sitting on a bar stool in this outfit was far from easy. The long purple over-the-knee socks on my hands needed to stay completely smooth, the skirt hem had to drape and spread out naturally, and those purple gloves required extra care to avoid leaving fingerprints when holding the red wine glass. However, setting aside these details during the shoot, the cut of this dress indeed visually elongated the proportions of the lower body.

Speaking of this Craft Essence outfit, it has indeed accompanied me for a long time. From when I first got into Fate/Grand Order, through the Epic of Remnant 1.51 storyline, to Ordeal Call II, her identity as one of the 'four girlfriends outside the shield' and her character tension have always been a vital part of what attracts me to this game. Although she is always harsh-tongued in the story, that deep-seated determination and occasionally revealed tenderness are very similar to the contrasting charm of this party gown—seemingly noble and cold on the surface, but actually full of stories.

During the shoot, the photographer and I discussed for a long time before choosing this environment filled with wine bottles and warm lights. The moment I raised my wine glass, without needing too many complex movements, I could already convey that bored yet elegant and composed vibe. I really love the texture of light and shadow in these photos; instead of heavily retouching the details, it preserved the original luster of the materials, and this realism actually fits the character much better.

The dim orange light and dark wooden shelves in the background formed a sharp color contrast with her deep purple dress. The highly saturated purple is incredibly eye-catching against the warm background, which is why we ultimately decided to use this scene to present this look. The atmosphere was a much better fit than a plain white studio.

As for the details of the accessories, that pair of long purple gloves paired with black lace armlets added a lot of maturity, while the rhinestone decorations on the bow tie still refracted specks of light under the dim lighting. The completion of the overall styling relies heavily on the support of the minor elements.

There was a small episode during the shoot: the leather bar stool was actually a bit slippery. To keep the skirt hem flat and the sitting posture stable, I had to slightly adjust the folds of the dress and the angle of my legs. However, it was precisely because of these dynamic adjustments that we captured some highly natural expressions instead.

But after finishing this Jalter cosplay set, I still feel like something is missing. Seeing the comments or thinking back to my past gaming experiences, I actually have a persistent wish at heart: I really want to shoot her Shinjuku costume. That cooler and more capable casual style would carry an entirely different vibe. If there is an opportunity in the future, I must arrange it.
