Bringing Yangyang's Xuanling styling from Wuthering Waves to the floor of BW 2026 was a deeply rewarding Game cosplay experience. The garment features intricate structural layering: the bodice transitions smoothly from crisp white to delicate sky blue, anchored at the waist by deep navy-and-black color blocking that grounds the visual weight. The asymmetrical hemline trimmed with blue-and-white feathered accents is the true highlight of this ensemble—flaring out gracefully with every step to reveal crisp, dynamic tiers. To complement the silhouette, I prepared a traditional crimson oil-paper umbrella; the bold red-and-blue clash created intense contrast under the convention lighting, instantly pulling lenses toward the character.

For hair and makeup, the wig featured a black-to-blue gradient. The front bangs demanded meticulous razor work, as even slight excess volume would shadow the eyes and obscure nuanced expressions. Alongside my ears, red tassel ornaments provided a vivid counterpoint to the dark blue tresses. I wore vibrant cyan contact lenses paired with a clear, luminous skin base and a warm coral-red lip glaze to preserve translucence under harsh convention hall strobes. Because convention halls get sweltering, I locked the base down using high-endurance liquid foundation and generous dustings of matte translucent powder to prevent facial oils from degrading the finish during marathon shooting blocks. The metallic silver vambraces on my forearms required precise circumference adjustments; otherwise, they would either pinch the skin uncomfortably or slide down during active poses.

In the first shot, I rested the umbrella shaft lightly across my shoulder while extending my left arm outwards, lengthening the silhouette of my torso while letting warm crimson light bouncing off the umbrella canopy fill in facial shadows, keeping my features clean under chaotic overhead hall lights. The second pose with closed eyes and pressed palms sought a serene, meditative sanctuary. Closing my eyes allowed me to attune to the physical weight of the textiles and the drape of the skirt, while keeping palms pressed held my posture straight and poised. To let the hemline fall cleanly, I engaged my core to maintain an upright spine. In the third shot posing alongside a fellow character, their gilded weapon props and ornate gold filigree formed a magnificent aesthetic complement to my red-and-blue palette; standing back-to-back with a subtle staggered offset ensured both cosplayers' weapons were completely framed without obstruction.

The shooting environment on the convention floor presented constant hurdles—glowing commercial LED lines and dense pedestrian traffic easily disrupt the visual purity of Anime-style photography. To bypass ambient visual clutter, we sought out backdrops dressed with traditional pavilions and ink-wash landscape murals, utilizing wide-aperture lenses to melt distant background distractions into soft bokeh. While the photographer fired candid bursts, I regulated my breathing to shift my center of gravity smoothly, making movements look fluid rather than stiffly frozen. The precise instant the hem billowed during a step and the angle of my gaze beneath the red umbrella required continuous micro-adjustments. The tangible texture of this costume far surpassed my expectations; the fabric's soft sheen and accessory craftsmanship held up under extreme macro close-ups, allowing the character to step out of the 2D plane into reality while preserving its original artistic identity. Sharing crafting techniques and shoot concepts with fellow creators on-site was pure joy.
