Today, the convention photos from the ijoy comic convention have finally been edited. This time I'm cosplaying Hsin from Wuthering Waves. For this set of photos, the early preparations took a long time. The wig was specially chosen as long, curly white hair with a gradient and fluffy feel, and the two huge fox ears on top of the head were custom-made, featuring red textures and golden accessories; wearing them for a long time really made my neck a bit sore. The costume adopts a red, black, and white color-blocking design; the red outer robe has a glossy texture with golden trimming along the edges, and the inner wear is a black bandeau with white shorts, leaning overall towards a combination of mythology and fantasy styles. In terms of makeup, to highlight the fox's charm and divinity, the eye makeup used a large area of red eyeshadow blending with darkened outer corners, paired with red contact lenses. The eyebrows were drawn quite slender and long. What took the most effort was the body highlighter. To capture the skin's texture under the harsh light of the convention site, I applied a large amount of body oil and highlighter liquid to my legs and collarbones. During the shoot, to showcase the leg lines, the photographer had me try many different sitting postures and kicking movements. The partial close-up of a single straight leg in Figure 1 actually required the instep to be pointed very tightly so that the lines from the calf to the ankle looked smooth. The kicking movement in Figure 3 also required repeatedly finding balance on a white block while maintaining upper body relaxation and expression management, making sure the action didn't look too labored. The lighting in the venue was relatively cold; the circular light array at the top and the dark truss structure carried an inherent industrial-style coolness, which formed a great contrast with Hsin's charming and lively temperament. To match this contrast, I deliberately relaxed my body while taking photos, letting the photographer capture those lazy yet aggressive moments. Many fellow fans watched me shoot on-site; everyone was very polite, and the whole process went very smoothly. Convention photos actually test a photographer's candid shooting ability and control over lighting, as there are many people and messy lighting at the site. The lens focal length and aperture used this time were controlled just right, blurring the crowd in the background and focusing the visual center entirely on the character's body language. Body oil is indeed very photogenic under the flash, but in reality, it's a bit sticky; for the sake of the effect, I couldn't care less. Every outdoor shoot or convention photo session is a test of physical stamina, but the moment I saw the final photos, I felt that the sweat shed and the soreness from wearing high heels (though mostly barefoot) were all worth it. I hope to have better inspiration and venues for further creation next time.
