[Hatsune Miku cosplay] An Exquisite Doll in an Icy Blue Dream

This figure-inspired doll styling for Hatsune Miku is finally released! Shot at Xingman Yinghua Studio, I'm especially grateful for photographer He's dedication—tremendous effort went into everything from set dressing to post-production color grading. The concept leaned heavily into an exquisite porcelain doll look—Doll Miku—so the wardrobe featured an intricate white dress overflowing with tiered lace and ruffles, paired with white tights and an oversized bonnet headpiece. Compared to her usual idol stage outfits, putting this ensemble on and taking it off was remarkably time-consuming. Once fitted with that grand headpiece, I had to hold a poised, upright posture throughout, as any sudden movement risked disheveling the wig.

To emphasize cool-toned dreaminess, the studio was bathed in soft blue lighting. Throughout the session, we incorporated props like a white swing, blue blossoms, and vintage mirrors. My favorite frame remains the look-back cover shot: to reveal leg contours beneath the dress hem, I half-sat upon the fleece rug, adjusting my posture for quite a while to strike that balance of refined elegance and subtle playfulness. On set, photographer He constantly encouraged me to explore nuanced shifts in my gaze—such as looking down into the mirror in quiet contemplation, as if transforming into a delicate figurine behind display glass. White tights paired with cool strobes visually brightened skin tones, which, complemented by blue contact lenses, completely transformed my aura.

The shoot lasted roughly three hours; midway through, the tight wig gave me a slight headache, but being so captivated by the set kept me going until the end. Bringing this project to fruition was truly a team effort. Usually for Nanning photography cosplay shoots, people simply locate an outdoor spot, but Xingman Yinghua provided dedicated, professional lighting support with exquisitely controlled cool-toned shadows.
