Just after finishing my exploration of the Irminsul, I came straight to the World Tree Anime Convention venue to put on this Nahida look for a photoshoot. This time, I specially adjusted the layers of the wig's bangs and sideburns to give the silver-white to green gradient hair a more natural fluffiness. The pairing of elf ears and head ornaments was secured multiple times, keeping it stable even while navigating through the convention crowds.
There weren't actually many creators cosplaying characters from Genshin Impact. Walking around the venue, I found that other popular games and IPs dominated the space. However, this paradoxically gave me more opportunities to focus on showcasing character details. The green lighting on-site perfectly matched the character's vibe. The light and shadow refraction brought by the flashes and lighting setup worked wonderfully on the silk ribbons and golden patterns of the costume, allowing the embroidery details along the edges to be clearly seen.
We shot several sets of actions from different camera positions. Combining the dynamic feel of the ribbons and the perspective angle of the extended hands, I managed to present that unique sense of lightness belonging to the Lesser Lord Kusanali within the composition. I met so many creators who came to take photos with me. Whether shooting with DSLRs or phones, everyone was extremely patient. Exchanging details on character restoration and makeup coordination with fellow fans was incredibly interesting.
Actually, quite a few people at the venue didn't recognize this as Nahida from Genshin Impact because the overall atmosphere of this Shanghai Anime Convention was different, but I was still more than happy to display my preparation and results. Although this costume is lightweight, it still has quite a few metal and hollowed-out accessories. Walking around in it all day was not easy, but everyone's enthusiasm made it feel entirely worth it.
The venue's lighting featured a lot of green and white top lights. This color temperature, paired with my makeup and hair color, gave my gaze a more piercing quality. A friend assisting with the shoot captured several dynamic moments, especially the perspective shot with extended arms, allowing Nahida's lively traits to be conveyed through the images. Choosing this outfit was not only due to the natural elements in its design but also because its tailoring easily accommodates large movements at conventions. The charm of an anime convention lies in face-to-face communication with fellow fans, sharing a mutual love for characters and cosplay. This event not only left me with satisfying Convention photos but also gave me a fresh understanding of my investment in styling. I look forward to delivering an even more precise character presentation next time.
