Bringing Noshiro's Maid outfit from Azur Lane to the Chongqing OIOI anime convention was a thoroughly rewarding experience from pre-shoot prep to the on-site session. Arriving early in the morning to apply makeup, I focused on a dewy, translucent base to suit the character's temperament. Dusting soft pink-purple eye shadow around the eyes paired with light blue-purple contact lenses created a cool yet gentle visual gaze. The wig was pre-trimmed with blunt bangs and twin tails, carefully styled with pomade and setting spray to ensure natural hair flow. The gradient horns on the crown were the centerpiece of this look; they had to be anchored securely inside the headband, so I used both bobby pins and strap ties for double reinforcement to prevent them from tilting in the bustling convention crowds.

Regarding the wardrobe, this black-and-white Maid outfit is rich in fine details. The black lace along the collar stands in crisp contrast against the white apron, while the heart-shaped choker ornament and black puff sleeves add dimensional layering. The ruffled lace trims along the hemline are cleanly crafted, offering an elegant drape in motion without looking bulky. Down below, white high-heeled pumps elongated leg lines on camera, requiring deliberate muscle engagement across both seated and standing postures.

Once inside the hall, the backstage area buzzed with cosplayers and photographers weaving through gear setups. For our shoot, we utilized a white plush faux-fur rug as the primary visual base, relying on dedicated photography lights to sculpt the subject cleanly. The first close-up selfie was taken right after finishing makeup: holding the phone with a subtle, playful expression against the monochrome costume forged an eye-catching contrast. The second full-body seated shot captured a candid, relaxed moment between takes—sitting on the floor with legs draped naturally to one side, resting a hand on my knee with head gently tilted beside a white writing board. The photographer seized that effortless, tranquil, and slightly languid atmosphere without forced posing.

On-location shoots are physically demanding: sitting on hard floors while sustaining upright back posture and leg extensions, combined with walking in high heels, takes real stamina. Yet immersed in that rich ACG convention energy, seeing everyone's shared passion for cosplay washed away the fatigue. For Convention photos, faithful character recreation and capturing authentic live ambiance matter most. Lacking heavy weapons or oversized props, this maid look centered entirely on posture and facial expression. With spacious hall grounds and well-balanced lighting, the final visuals fully lived up to expectations.
