[Ganyu Cosplay] Blue-Haired Memories of First Love in Teyvat

Deciding to use a solid blue pleated curtain as the backdrop for this shoot came from a simple idea: I wanted Ganyu's predominantly dark blue outfit to achieve maximum integration and contrast with this cool-toned scene. Although the background seems simple, the light and shadow casting across the fabric's folds actually better highlights the main subject, presenting a serene atmosphere overall that fits my initial impression of this character very well.

Let's talk about this costume. Dark blue is the primary color, paired with shimmering gold trimming and cut-out designs, with exquisite metallic pendants at the chest and waist, plus red knot ties as accents that brighten the overall color layers significantly. The long black gloves on my hands have a great fit, with a breathable design at the wrists so holding a fan during photos didn't feel clunky. The wig on top was styled with two braided strands, paired with golden bell-style headpieces and red hairpins to maximize character recognition. For visual extension, I specifically paired black patent leather high heels; the red sole design creates a subtle response to the red cords on the costume, and along with silver thigh ring accents, the overall line sense looks even better under soft lighting.

The two props used this time were also very clever. One is a folding fan with black lace trim, and the other is a white printed oil-paper umbrella. Under cool light, the black fan grounds the scene's restlessness, and holding it adds a touch of mysterious and elegant temperament. When opened, the blue flower and leaf pattern on the white umbrella perfectly unifies with the overall color scheme, fanning out behind me like a peacock's tail to open up the movement range. In terms of composition, I personally really love the top-down lying pose in the second photo; it showcases the cut of the skirt and the extension of the leg lines wonderfully, with the black fan half-covering my face—playful yet retaining feminine charm. The seated pose with the open umbrella also beautifully highlights upper body costume details.

Honestly, taking on this character was mostly driven by nostalgia. I remember when I first started playing anime gacha games, I was instantly drawn to her gentle, ethereal, yet slightly airheaded personality—she was truly my first heartbeat in the world of Teyvat. Back then, I searched for traces of her in the wild every day, running across the massive map for upgrade materials. Now, years later, being able to personally put on this anime-style outfit, wear the wig, stand before the lens, and wholeheartedly recreate this character who once made my heart skip a beat gives me a truly wonderful feeling.

To get this photoset just right, the photographer put a lot of effort into the lighting setup. Front and side softboxes made my skin tone look bright, smooth, and translucent, while dampening the oversaturation of the blue background cloth, producing harmonious overall image colors. The cool film tone gave the photos a touch of cinematic ambiance. Post-processing had almost no major edits, merely refining skin texture and wrinkles on the costume to maintain the initial shooting feel as much as possible. I enjoy every process of breathing life into a character and look forward to constantly breaking through and challenging myself before the lens, recreating more beloved characters with authentic texture.
