This Genshin Impact Columbina Cosplay was shot in a real-scene studio, and the overall effect turned out much better than expected. During the early preparations, we wanted to create a quiet and ethereal atmosphere because the character's own temperament is that of a cool, aloof anime girl with a hint of mystery. A blue and white sea of flowers was specially set up in the studio, paired with white Roman pillars and a soft plush carpet, making it visually very clean. The shallow depth-of-field lens used also gave the image great layering.

Regarding the clothing, the primary color palette is a patchwork of pale blue and pure white. The off-the-shoulder design retains the character's traits while allowing unrestricted movement when stretching. I feel the accuracy of the details, such as the crescent-shaped metal pendant on the chest and the feather-like decorations on the shoulders, meets standard. With an added lightweight tulle shawl, the entire figure looks very translucent under natural light. The wig also recreates the characteristic black base hair with red and purple highlights, and the wing-shaped headpiece on top needs to be secured very firmly to ensure it doesn't fall off during the shoot. I also made special adjustments to the white ribbons on the arms and the cross-straps on the legs; the position and tightness shouldn't be too restrictive, otherwise, it would affect the natural feel when making movements.

During the shoot, we mainly wanted to express a static sense of beauty. For example, placing hands crossed over the chest area, paired with a slightly downcast gaze, can convey that gentle and quiet feeling. In the frames where my arms are raised, a touch of dynamic breathing room is added. Personally, the one I lean towards most for the cover is the semi-side-sitting pose, where the skirt naturally spreads out, and the details of the leg cross-straps and bare feet can be seen at a glance. Actually, this kind of composition heavily tests the coordination between the model and the photographer, because it requires avoiding the blue flowers in the foreground from blocking too many body parts while using depth-of-field blur to create a sense of depth. The photographer opted for a high-key lighting setup this time, combining strong light with softboxes, which beautifully eliminated facial shadows and made the skin tone look exceptionally bright. The hardest part during the shooting process was actually keeping the costume smooth, because sitting on a plush carpet very easily generates static electricity, and the tulle would stick to my legs, requiring quick adjustments during breaks.

However, seeing the blue and white outfit color scheme echo each other in the final photos made me feel all the previous effort was worth it. I have always felt that cosplay is not just about putting on clothes, but more importantly, capturing the character's emotions under a specific environment. For a character like Columbina, her exterior is very soft, but her interior hides an unfathomable depth. This time, we didn't choose exaggerated movements or heavy makeup, but instead used the cleanest makeup look and appropriate lighting to highlight her purity. The bare feet setting was actually a bit of a dilemma during early prop preparation, but to faithfully recreate the character, we ultimately decided to keep this detail. Looking back now, this decision was correct—bare feet paired with white straps look very natural against the sea of flowers and the blanket. Since the theme of this shoot was set as "The Moon is Beautiful," we intentionally avoided overly complex ornaments, using a large number of blue and white flower clusters to construct a dreamy courtyard feel. The final exported set of photos features unified colors, spot-on emotions, and the overall atmosphere achieved the expected serene effect, making it a very comfortable shooting experience for me.
