[Columbina Cosplay] Genshin Impact Song of the Welkin Moon: Dual-Faced Presentation of Cool White Doves and Red & Black Gothic Style

Today, the color grading and retouching for this dual-character cosplay series are officially complete, so I'm sharing the final set of photos directly. The prep work was quite long; the fabric materials, hairstyle structures, set designs, and props for these two looks were all distinct. During post-processing, I specifically requested boosting the saturation in the cool-toned areas and deepening the shadows in the warm-toned areas to widen the visual contrast between the two atmospheres.

For the cool-toned look above, the wig and styling were the core focus. The black base with dark red ombre highlights required meticulous attention to root fluffiness and bang curvature—especially when wearing the wing-shaped hair accessory, where I had to ensure it stayed firmly secured without flattening the wig or making my head look wide. The pearl chains and white stone pillars used in the shoot were also carefully chosen; when purple ambient light struck their smooth surfaces, the dreamy pure vibe of the image instantly emerged. To coordinate with the white dove's movements, I posed my hands in several ways. The dove was a bit unruly, flapping its wings a few times as it walked around and messing up the ribbons on my arm, but those candid shots captured an unforced, naturally dynamic flutter that ended up being a huge bonus.

The main highlight of the warm Gothic style cosplay below lies in the structural design and color scheme of the outfit. The red, black, and white color-blocked fitted dress, paired with a black leather choker and ruby at the neck, greatly enhanced the overall persona. The oversized white bow on the head added a sense of presence, while the inverted triangle hairstyle framed the face to look smaller. Real burning metal candlesticks cast an unstable warm glow onto my face and silver-gray wig, creating a remarkably dynamic light-and-shadow gradient line. While shooting with this lighting was beautiful, staying completely still for long periods to avoid shifting the facial highlights consumed significantly more physical energy than typical cool-light shoots.

Putting on two completely contrasting styles, I could feel distinct tensions ranging from the fabrics to the tailoring. One was light and flowy, where simply waving my arm in front of the lens caused the skirt hem and ribbons to flutter gracefully; the other was gorgeous and heavy, requiring me to stand firm and convey an imposing presence through my gaze and subtle fingertip gestures. During the transition between makeup and outfits, adjusting contact lenses, changing lip color, and resetting jewelry took almost as much time as the shoot itself.

Incorporating the line from the caption "No invitation to the tea party," I intentionally tightened my facial muscles in the Gothic set, keeping my eyelids slightly drooped to convey a proud, lazy, and somewhat disdainful expression; in contrast, for the cool-toned set, I emptied my gaze and let my eyes follow the white dove, appearing lighter and softer. One cool, one warm; one dynamic, one serene—perfectly distinguishing the two photo sets. This attempt at a dual-character cosplay with a shared theme gave me a rich photography experience, and immersing myself in two completely different atmospheres on the same day was truly fun.

Reviewing the raw shots after the shoot, I could clearly see how much thought the photographer put into the lighting setup, maintaining a high-fidelity skin texture. The post-production color balance was also handled very professionally without over-smoothing or distortion. This made me realize that delivering a great cosplay piece—from crafting headpiece accessories and trimming wigs to setting up site lighting and atmosphere—requires meticulous craftsmanship at every step, making me truly enjoy this exhausting yet fulfilling journey.
