[Columbina Cosplay] Genshin Impact · Song of the Empty Moon: A Serene Note Under the Moonlight

Choosing to shoot Columbina's "Song of the Empty Moon" look this time was both a self-challenge and a process for me to truly get closer to the unique temperament of this character. In the original work, she always carries a faint sense of detachment and serene compassion, and I hoped to capture this keynote belonging to a moonlit night maiden through the lens.

We put a lot of thought into preparing the costume and styling. The wig uses black hair with a delicate texture, and the wing-like headpiece on top of the head is lightweight and three-dimensional, forming a highly recognizable visual focus with that striking wine-red highlight at the ends of the hair. The details of the costume are extensive: from the star embellishments at the collar, the drape of the white tulle and blue satin, to the crescent-shaped pendants and the ribbons wrapped around the arms, every part strives to recreate the refinement and elegance belonging to the "Empty Moon."

During the shoot, the scene setup perfectly matched this character. The sky-blue backdrop curtain, pure white flowers, and Roman columns created a dreamlike space that seemed to exist above the clouds. Special mention must be made of the mirrored reflective floor; under the illumination, it not only extended the spatial sense of the frame but also made the overall color tones appear more clear, transparent, and soft. In terms of lighting, we chose a large area of natural side-backlighting, which hit the white fabric to form beautiful light spots, giving the folds of the clothing better layering.

To align with Columbina's "inhuman" holiness and serenity, I intentionally restrained my movements, reducing overly dynamic poses and focusing more on sitting quietly, looking up, or bowing my head. Through the shifting of my gaze and slightly relaxed body language, I sought to express the mindset of "my song is sung for no one, but if you stop your steps, I wish to grant you a moment of peace." Especially when putting on that white mesh blindfold, although I lost most of my vision, it made my inner perception exceptionally sharp, allowing me to immerse myself deeper into the character's unblemished transcendence.

The perfect chemistry among the costume, makeup, props, lighting, scene, and photographer during this Cosplay photoshoot made me feel that every gesture was an absolute enjoyment. Although the entire process was hard work, seeing the final presentation of the serene blue tones interwoven with the Moon Maiden Columbina's pure white filled my heart with fulfillment and joy.
