[Remielle cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero 2nd Anniversary, let's become accomplices together

The photoset for Zenless Zone Zero's 2nd anniversary is finally finished. This time I'm cosplaying styling related to Remielle and Ramiel. A lot of thought went into the preparation of the entire shoot, from location scouting to finalizing costumes and props, but fortunately, the final effect presented is very satisfying. Sijun set up a red-and-black-toned background. To match this atmosphere with a touch of Gothic and theatrical feel, we made many attempts in the arrangement of props and lighting.

That huge white wing is actually quite heavy, especially when lying on white gauze or sitting. Controlling the shape of the wings to make them look natural and not collapse while also balancing the flexibility of the body requires very delicate adjustments. The details of the costume are very rich; things like those straps, metal buckles, and lace edges need to be adjusted bit by bit to the most appropriate position when wearing them to ensure the most perfect state in front of the lens. To highlight body lines, white stockings and garter stockings were paired. During lighting, strong backlighting was deliberately used to outline the edges, making the contours of the legs and wing feathers clearer and more three-dimensional.

The red velvet curtains and white lightweight gauze formed a strong visual impact, and the pigeons and golden photo frames as compositional elements were also positioned in advance. The cooperation with teacher Wudi went very smoothly. On-site, we constantly tried different angles, such as half-lying, curling up, or reaching out to tease the pigeons, striving to capture that moment which is both sacred and carries a hint of danger. The core of this photoset wants to express the bond of becoming accomplices together, so in emotional expression, I tried to make my gaze and actions carry a sense of detachment and mystery, rather than purely interpreting it in the conventional sweet style.

This scheduled shoot in Meizhou had a great overall experience; the venue and lighting conditions gave us plenty of room to play. When shooting such large scenes, one must pay attention to the distance between the main light source and the character's face, otherwise, the face can easily appear overexposed or the shadows too harsh. The red and black lighting layout in the background also needs to control reflections to avoid messy light spots. In post-processing color grading, the richness of red and the purity of white were preserved, without excessive color cast processing, trying our best to restore the oil-painting feel of the scene. Although the whole process was very physically demanding—especially wearing high heels and carrying wings while posing in various ways—seeing the images inside the camera made all the hard work feel worth it.

Speaking of the costume design this time, that white combat suit not only has a sense of layering but also incorporates many sci-fi elements, such as those transparent materials and metal-textured ring buckles. During the preparation stage, I repeatedly tried on and adjusted the waistline and skirt length to visually maximize the elongation of the leg proportions. The white over-the-knee stockings and garter design played a key role in modifying the leg lines, but special attention had to be paid during the shoot to prevent slipping, requiring constant readjustment. The contrast between the red and black background and the pure white costume is the core logic of the visual presentation of this shoot. In terms of composition, we heavily used framing techniques, utilizing golden empty photo frames to guide the line of sight to the character, coupled with falling white gauze and flying prop pigeons to increase the dynamic sense of the frame. In terms of light and shadow, side backlighting not only highlighted the texture of the hair strands but also made the layers of the feathers distinct. Every photo tries to tell a momentary story, from static sitting poses to dynamic interactions, making the whole scene feel like a frozen stage play. In the venue, we utilized a large number of rose petals and metal candlesticks to enrich the visual elements and avoid the frame looking too empty. Although the shooting process was quite a hassle, everyone was working hard for the same goal, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.
